So I host most of my raid runs and I get the people of lfr/lfg sites.
The thing I do not understand however, why do people send messages to me with only inv or invite please?
1/5 messages I get has the proper information I want with class and light etc.
The rest are just inv or inv please. I'm not a psychic I can't know your class and light just out of the blue.
And inv please, it sounds so terrible and desperate. Why are you begging to get into a group?
And this isn't just in raids same thing and maybe even worse in nightfall etc.
If i get these i ignore them or simply ask for more info if I gee t a few messages only. But why do people keep sending these?
I prioritise lower light if the message got all the info I need every day.
Edit. Ok so a lot of people say it's to get in quick but I really don't buy that. Typing in or inv please or typing 310 hunter it's like 5 seconds difference.
Also on all computers and phones you can copy paste your messages so you lose zero time. Not a valid argument.
We have a lot of people saying they ignore these Inv or invplease messages as 2ell so is it really about speed when wanting to get into a group?
EDIT 2. People say that if you don't ask for specific requirements you shouldn't complain. But the fact is that I always ask for specific requirements and still 75% of the people sending me inv or inv please do not meet these requirements. They just simply ignore them ☺

4 Repliesyou would think it would be common sense to include class and light level but people are idiots. "310 hunter" that's literally all it takes so there is no excuse for "inv please"
-
"And inv please, it sounds so terrible and desperate. Why are you begging to get into a group?" So now being polite is begging? Who taught you manners? Saying please is a matter of politeness, not only desperation. Also, so what? I mean why does it bother you, if you're "ignoring" them? If you're bothered enough to post this on the forums, then you're clearly not able to "ignore" them.

If you're too lazy to say your class and level, I'm too lazy to invite you.
-
u butthurt bro

1 ReplyWhy do you need raid requirements, 9/10 times I ignore these lfm posts anyway tryhards almost every time. Almost always a bad experience...
-
Because typing that shit out takes to long, sending them an invite and taking would be much faster.
-
inv!!!! inv pls!!!
-
Raid!?!?!
-
Some people are just lazy, period.
-
I sometimes do that. If you accept me, good for you because I'm a great raider, if not, someone else will add me
-
1 ReplyI'm not reading your entire post but the answer is simple. It's become convention for raid leaders to just accept the 1st ppl that respond and boot them if they don't meet reqs. Most don't include messages because there's no expectation for it and it would just slow you down making it more likely to be filled by someone else

Usually I send thru my console because that's what ppl want. I only send my class n light if it's asked or specified they're looking for certain classes. If a post just says 295+ my gt is xxxxxxxx I just send inv because spots go quick. If a post says LF 2 of each class. Or something like like I'll specify. Also sending a please isn't begging, it's being polite, sending pretty please I know I'm lower light but I can make it through with a little help... that's begging.

I agree I use the forum to get into groups or post when we need a person. Level and class is all you need to message.
-
Lol if they dont look good kick them i say inv because its fast so i can get a spot

http://i.imgur.com/f8LQ9cS.jpg I don't accept anyone saying Inv. I make it a requirement to message me with your light level.

1 ReplyHere is the problem I have. First off there is nothing wrong with saying please. It's polite. Something the world can use more of. Second... You know how it keeps getting stated that most people still request an inv even if they don't meet the requirements? lol every single time I say 30* whatever blah blah with tom send invite . I get in there and I'm the only one or me and the host are the only ones that meet the requirements. It's your group I guess but don't post "305+ with tom and black spindle must have mic" then I get in there and you're a 305 but none of the weapons and then your friends are 290-300 with none of them and then you got the one guy with no mic but you assure me it's ok because "he can hear us through his tv". No one follows the requirements and most won't meet them because not everyone has the same amount of time to play as others.

Everytime I use recruitment this is my message: Hi. Still looking for players for the raid/nf/quest? 30X Class.
-
7 Replies1. This may be shocking, but there are people out there that are still polite. Saying "please" isn't just a sign of desperation. 2. If you haven't requested a specific class and/or light level then I'm going to assume you're not looking for anything specific, so I will politely ask you to invite me. 3. If you have requested a specific class and/or light level then I'm going to politely ask you to invite me, knowing that I meet your qualifications.

Set up an account on 100.io it cuts out all the bs

It is because you already stated in the lfg post what you were looking for. Inv pls means I meet you minimum requirements so send me an invite and let's get this thing done.

A little anecdote that may give people some ideas ... I did NF last night with my two alts, which were 304 and 303. I thought, what should I post? 300+? 295+? I decided, ah, I can do this solo if I need to. It will take a while, but there are no rooms in this strike you can't beat solo if you are patient. So I flew down to Mars. Meanwhile on a lark, I posted that I was 304, doing it solo, but the more the merrier. I don't care about your level. Message for invite. I got five messages very quickly and I took the first two. They were a 312 titan and a 299 hunter. We got through the strike and I made a similar post for my last character, who was 303. I got an invitation to join someone. I took the invitation and my teammates were two 315s with Oryx HM logos. Food for thought.

10 RepliesProbably because groups fill up fast and typing a resume with a controller takes time. By the time you're done, the groups full. Requiring all these elaborate specifications for messaging to get in the raid and equating it to how someone will perform in the raid is hilarious. The groups who are mostly chill and just play tend to me more successful.
-
3 RepliesI just say inv. Because When I host raids I don't care about light level or class. If someone is 280 so what! If my whole team is low light then maybe il ask if anyone has better characters. Don't be so ridiculous in that you need a requirement all the time.

Omg...i had a vision of a pug raid! Cute little dogs shooting poodles. Cool
