If you haven't beaten oryx on hard mode yet...
You probably have a job, family and social commitments. Well done on prioritising and putting more important things first!

Edit: so I just found out I have scrubitis, I have been diagnosed by the destiny doctors here. I'm booked into a git gud centre, hopefully I can pull through this.

I got to be honest. I fully expected to click on this thread and see a post created by some idiot who was finally able to beat hard mode after hours and hours of trying through some combination of being carried and dumb luck, and then came to the forums five minutes after the completion to call everyone else scrubs. lol!

I have yet to try it, just because I'm not that motivated to do so. When I do finally get around to it, I'll likely only do it once for the achievement. I ran Crota way too many times, and VoG also.

I have beat oryx on hard one time with each of my three characters and all three times oryx gave me an armor peice with lower light than the one I already had equipped when i beat him. So don't bother. Obviously he has an extremely low chance of giving you a hard mode primary or helmet and can take hours if your fireteam are not pros. Just do the rest of the raid and you will get better drops than oryx gives. Don't let the fact that he is the only one who drops primaries and helmets draw you in because trust me he is very content giving you ghosts and low armor pieces...you will be let down...repeatedly. oh and just in case you think that i have have garbage luck with drops i want you to know the straight up fact that in all three runs not one person in each of my fireteams got a primary or helmet over 315. thats 21 drops with no helmet or primary 315+....coincidence....i think not.

5 RepliesWhy bother....next expansion all our weapons will be obsolete and we will automatically be raised to the next light level with the small purchase price of $59.99. Figure I'll actually just try and enjoy myself and not care about increasing my light level.

Why even bother? When Silver goes pay-2-win everyone will just throw money at the screen to get the max light level anyways.

Why should I do it? I don't particularly see any motivation to complete it. Maybe if there was, I dunno, a drop to allow me to infuse my beloved Nerf Gun (Down and Doubt 00) into say an Arc Nerf Gun I'd be more inclined. No way I'm doing it for that clunky, slow reloading hand cannon. ...oh right, I just remembered, Hard Mode gives 320 gear.....meh, I'll just wait till the next DLC where I can get 330 Light gear from that normal raid.

1 ReplyWith the new loot system, and lack of elemental primaries I have no drive to play through the raid. I hate to say it but at least with the old loot system I always had that carrot in front of me to keep raiding.

Tried normal for the first time, idiots kept dying at the relay section. Never had a more incompetent raid experience in my life.

2 RepliesSaw there were no elemental primaries from the raid and said f-it. They were the only reasons I did the other raids on hard. It was pure joy when I got my first fatebringer and vision of confluence, word of Crota, and fang of ir yut. Now, the Ttk raid weapons are mostly trashy infusion fuel. High end raid gear should not be trash.
