2 RepliesYou do realise that the download speed is not what affects the ping of a player right? The upload speed is what affects the ping, plus the jitter on the connection and also packet loss and that is just going to the users ISP's Servers, then there is the information going over the fibre cables from the ISP to the data centre where the servers are located or going to the persons Xbox/PS who is hosting the game you are playing. On most pc games I get a ping of around 5ms but on the Xbox I am lucky if it is below 20ms, and that is on a 120mb/12mb connection Here is a speed test on my connection with the xbox turned on and 15 tabs open in a browser on a pc. http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4777133628 Your idea is just stupid as it would mean that some countries would not be able to play PVP at all and other people who's parents won't change isp or those people who can only have a low speed adsl type connection would not be able to play PVP. The better option would be to implement something like region choice so you can choose a region and only play against people from that region which may help with the game experience.

2 RepliesThat's dumb. You're dumb.

7 RepliesYou mean petition to ban players harmed by Bungie servers
-
They should connect people with a crappy connect together.

Signed.

1 Replylisten guys, his K/D does not matter, the fact is that lag ruins many crucible games for a lot of people. Shut up about his stats and face the facts (dat rhyme doe)

1 ReplyEdited by itzeMeR: 10/26/2015 4:27:30 PMLet me translate it for you. " IM A BUTTHURT CRYBABY COMING TO CRY ABOUT SHOTGUNS BECAUSE THEY KILL ME TOO MUCH AND I SUCK SO I BLAME LAG!"

12 RepliesEdited by Dionysus XIII: 10/26/2015 4:01:11 PMBased on your PvP stats from Destiny Tracker, I think you might need to complain more about your own PvP ability and less about Internet speeds.
-
blame bungie for being too cheap to use dedicated servers for a half-billion budget game , its not the players fault when they have lame peer2peer connections
-
It's not just lag it's also the net code.

20 RepliesI love in the country and the only wifi I can get is a mobile wifi. The highest speed I've ever seen is 3mb/s. It's usually 2 down 0.5 up. And half the time it's fine, just when a lot of people are using the wifi at the same time it slows down.
-
But it's all about that ping
-
Edited by Trek: 10/26/2015 9:19:35 AMThis isn't the answer. Bungie won't lock anyone out - that wouldn't be fair. Just matchmake people with bad connections with each other and the opposite for people with good connection speed.
-
7 RepliesThe most interesting thing is that people believe the problem is laying on the other persons side, and not on their side of the connection. If your seeing people glitch all over the screen / unkillable etc, chances are some people are experienced the same issue with you at some point. You just don't notice it because on your side you "think you dodged their bullets / melees" Ping is influenced by many many factors of which line speed is just a small part. The best way to combat it is by using dedicated servers to reduce lag to the host. Activision is not going to introduce this any time soon, so don't expect major improvements in the near future.
-
4 RepliesDo you mean Mbps? And that doesn't really have anything to do with lag.
-
7 Repliesthat red bar next to a players name indicates a slower ping. It doesn't always mean gameplay will be effected but often it does.problem is the slow ping isn't always caused by the player, sometimes it's caused by the server, which makes it harder to "ban" a certain group of players based on irrelevant statistics.
-
12 RepliesGo fūck yourself. In Australia, the highest download speed I've ever seen is 3mbps. So you're saying an entire country should be locked out because Bungie decided to not make dedicated servers? Besides, you obviously don't know what the fūck you're talking about, as download speed has nothing to do with ping. Get your facts straight before you make a post like this.
-
You are the problem
-
wrong metric. overall speed isn't the problem most the time. it's latency, high jitter lines and guys screwing with their mtu settings to try and gain an advantage. the later can throw game timing our of wack.
-
1 ReplyI don't think you understand what makes people lag my friend
-
Good luck with that 1. Aint never gonna happen.
-
Petition to lock people out of schooling if they do not have at least 120 IQ....
-
It will never happen in this or any console game ever. You do not even need 10mbs down or up. this game can run on just 1mbs up/down console games do not need more than a few mbs connection none of them even just more than 3mbs for anything unless you are the host in the game even then a 5mbs down and 1mbs up is still more than the game ever needs.
-
Omg yes!!!!!
-
1 ReplyThat's why I check before the game and report everyone on red bar. Regardless of who's fault it is, the more reports will get people looking at it quicker.
