If anybody is still looking for the next end-all-be-all Gjallarhorn replacement in Year 2 you may as well give up. Bungie learned their lesson. Their intention is to make exotics that are amazing at one or two things and lackluster at other things, so when your current exotic fails you in a given task you can switch to something else that will excel. Every new exotic that has emerged over the past month except for Black Spindle (though that is situational too) has been written off as garbage because it's not ridiculously OP in every situation. All of Year 1 people said "hey this exotic is pretty cool, too bad I can't use it though because I have Gjallarhorn". I saw guys get crapped on in hard mode Crota's End for not having or using Gjallarhorn, meanwhile they were using Red Death for health regen instead because it was a good exotic for the situation. Exotics are balanced now, and it's not a bad thing!

This was the one weapon from this DLC that I was truly excited about, but it is literally nothing more than a reskinned rare pulse rifle... 90% of the exotics from this DLC are pathetic. In many cases, they are nothing more than weapon rolls from year 1 legendaries /raid weapons with the burns removed from them. My full-auto Hawksaw is better in pretty much every way... All Exotic primaries should have burns on them... There's nothing exotic about weapon that is outclassed by a vendor weapon with a good roll on it.

It's a monster in pvp. Full auto with max stability is almost unfair. It puts crucible in easy mode.

For bosses with large crit spots, totally worth it, for trash mobs I prefer my hung jury.

2 RepliesActually, the only exotic I've really found to be "useless" is Boolean Gemini. Many legendary scout rifles are better. Most of the new exotics have minor flaws but that is fine. I like No Time to Explain.

Finally got it and ran a couple of strikes with it. Not useless but not worthy of my exotic primary slot, for PVE at least. In fact, my Treads Upon Stars is better than it for the primary slot. A bit underwhelming. Ridiculous claims about having infinite ammo, these scenarios are not often. Primaries usually serve best to clear out trash and other weapons are better for that, such as Bad Juju and Zhalo. You will not have infinite ammo when clearing trash, no matter how perfect your aim is, it's just due to the nature of pulse rifles. 2/3 of the burst will kill trash causing a stray bullet also due to recoil the full burst will not crit on trash from medium to long distance, you will have stray bullets when clearing trash, it is inevitable. However your mag will be extended. As for as taking down bosses... A secondary or heavy does that best, not a primary. Overall I'd give it a 7/10.

I personally am loving it. it's great for majors on pve and it holds its own in pvp but I still use my apple of discord.

It's more of a nostalgia weapon. I always enjoyed playing with the stranger's rifle, up until the end game made it useless. Now I get a slightly better version to run through the game and it can be viable (although not optimal) through the endgame.

3 RepliesDoes the entire burst need to be a crit for the infinite ammo perk to work? Or can it be 1/3 or 2/3 of the bullets from the burst?
