To all my fellow Xbox Guardians.
This December Microsoft will be introducing the Xbox One Elite.
And if you're in the market for a "next gen" console, this is the cream of the crop.
Not only does the Xbox 1 Elite come with the Elite controller, but the real gem is a 1 TB SSD hybrid hard drive. (Too bad Microsoft didn't introduce this at launch because the PS 4 wouldn't stand a chance).
This is an amazing deal for 499. SSD's are light years ahead of and better than traditional HDD's because the SSD's have no moving parts and data retrieval is nearly instantaneous.
Good stuff Microsoft.
Edit: The intent of this post was not to start a "console war" so my bad with the title.
I'm just impressed with Microsoft's decision to sell the Elite at 499 including both the controller and an SSDHD. there can't be much of a profit made for selling it at this price point.

4 RepliesDid you know a 1TB SSHD Is only worth 10-20 bucks more than a regular HDD? That said, $500 is overpriced, you are better off upgrading your drive to SSHD yourself. Lastly, speed/load comparisons have shown that HDD's, SSHD's, and SSD's perform similar on game consoles, with only small improvements each step up. A PC is where SSHD's and especially SSD's shine, not a game console.

Edited by GDUB-_-: 10/19/2015 2:43:05 PMPs4 has a 1tb hard drive with the black ops 3 ps4 and it's 430$
-
3 RepliesI'm only getting it if it has 4K streaming capabilities.
-
Please. PS4 Genesis is going to blow it out of the water. Both consoles will be great, but the Genesis looks sick!
-
Isn't it coming out Nov. 3?
-
I didn't know that Destiny had an Xbox in it...

3 RepliesEdited by Drikish: 10/19/2015 2:27:19 PMPahahahaha who the -blam!- will fork out more money for faster loading screens :L Maybe you still have to put batteries in this elite controller haha Xbox one sucks coming from someone who has both.
-
1 ReplySo do you still have the red ring or

10 RepliesEdited by Truman: 10/19/2015 2:16:48 PMAmazing deal for 499? You must be really out of touch with the PC community bud, that's hardly a great deal. They're going to make a profit, alright.
-
2 RepliesThey still have other problems. Like the Xbone dashboard as been absolute garbage.
-
2 RepliesLOL Keep being impressed with your little box. Gamerz like you where saying the same thing last time around... and we all know how that cycle ended. If your a gamer that cares about quality I would suggest that you steer clear of all Xbox products as they are in the same mindset as Bungie "sucker the client for as much cash as possible and use misleading marketing lingo to blam the customer". And Xbox games (exclusives) tend to be "cut/paste and point shoot" type games (boring!!!). When Xbox come out with exclusives worth playing I'll have a look...
-
40 RepliesAnd your point? Ps4 has better exclusives, controllers, and the price is still cheaper even when getting a 2tb hard drive to put in. Sshd are really only good for the os and possibly will help with some games

I hope you realize Sony has already begun working on a PS4 Slim with more memory, a faster processor, and a cooler exhaust than the current PS4. It will be overtaking all current consoles in power, speed, and memory and will cost less than the Elite.
-
They're making an elite already? The bormal Xbox 1 still has many problems though
-
1 ReplyIt's still an under powered piece of trash

Edited by Mango Deelite: 10/19/2015 2:12:08 PM499 for crap that became low cost in terms of pc parts recently? No thanks.
-
The controller is sick too, I'm thinking about swapping my current One for it
-
1 ReplyIs the Xbox one elite the next gen console or is it just a nicer looking xb1 because I don't wanna buy another damn console
-
I upgraded my ps3 with an SSD ages ago. Great decision, would recommend. Not really interested in upgrading to xbone or ps4, although I'm going to because fallout 4.
-
5 RepliesPs4 has outsold xbox nearly every month from release. I think they are doing fine lol ps4 already has a 10th anniversary controller and 1tb ps4 wo again even. Ps is one of the og gaming systems for our generation (me being a 20yr old who grew up with ps1 and super nintendo). I, as a playstation player, am not worried about people leaving to xbox
-
10 RepliesSo what if M$ includes a 1TB hard drive. You cannot replace it without voiding the warrantee. Meanwhile, i have replaced my PS4s hard drive with a 1.5 TB hard drive and the warrantee is still intact. It was still cheaper than the XBox One Elite will be.
-
A slim version elite would have been the true great move. A hybrid drive will be a slight improvement, probably not noticeable by most. Controller could be cool but durability always is a factor. I have ps4 controllers that don't rumble right and xboxone controllers that frequently disconnect and have odd tension Springs.
-
You have elite controllers, we have elite sales
so what
-
Sony lost me with the PoS that was the PS3. Once I got my hands on a real gaming controller I couldn't go back. Can't wait to upgrade to Elite!
-
Pshhh both ps-snore and the xbone are nothing compared to the wii u and their awesome friend codes!
-
2 RepliesLuckily, you can buy any SSD/SSHD or HD 2.5'' for the PS4.
