Sony should be worried, Xbox 1 elite is coming.
To all my fellow Xbox Guardians.
This December Microsoft will be introducing the Xbox One Elite.
And if you're in the market for a "next gen" console, this is the cream of the crop.
Not only does the Xbox 1 Elite come with the Elite controller, but the real gem is a 1 TB SSD [b]hybrid[/b] hard drive. (Too bad Microsoft didn't introduce this at launch because the PS 4 wouldn't stand a chance).
This is an amazing deal for 499. SSD's are light years ahead of and better than traditional HDD's because the SSD's have no moving parts and data retrieval is nearly instantaneous.
Good stuff Microsoft.
Edit: The intent of this post was not to start a "console war" so my bad with the title.
I'm just impressed with Microsoft's decision to sell the Elite at 499 including both the controller and an SSDHD. there can't be much of a profit made for selling it at this price point.

I have an Xbox One and I'm fairly firmly a Microsoft person, but no, this is not a big deal. The PS4 is still the more powerful and more versatile system.

Several of my friends have ps4's and I have a one. I see little to no difference between the two. Is this some made up Dick measuring competition that people feel the need to partake in because they own one and not the other?

It's good for Sony and Microsoft that this is happening. Mostly Microsoft because they have something to raise profit but Sony has something to make them think of something to counter this. Competition is best for business

Can't you just drop $150 on a 500GB pure SSD drive and upgrade it yourself? Why buy a whole new console? Also because the hybrid drives usually don't have much free space that's actual SSD. If you rolled your own you could have it all be SSD for much less than the cost of a new console...

Having an SSD would do nothing for playing destiny if you're in a fire team. You will zone in at the rate of the slowest person. So if you have an SSD and both other ppl have have a HDD you'll all load in at the same time. It's still cool to have one though, don't get me wrong. But for multiplayer games it won't make any difference to load times

Its SSH 5400rpm , and you got no laod profit with destiny. BUT THE X1 ELITE CONTROLLER RULEZ. STANDARD X1 > DS4 not to mention the above.

SSD doesn't make a console it gives slightly quicker loading times. You need to get educated before wasting mummy's money.

SSD hybrid drives are garbage the SSD part is so small its insignificant. atleast with the PS4 you can install a real SSD and if Xbox users were smart they would just get an external ssd and install everything on it and save money.

If you think Xbox is in anyway better than the ps4 you've simply fallen prey to the marketing scheme Microsoft and Sony play because their systems are virtually the same and when played side by side you can't notice the difference so you're only arguing because media told you that you have to pick a side. Xbone are awesome. Ps4 are amazing. Next gens are freaking epic and pcs are the real enemy. #neverforget

So Xboxes plan to beat PS4 which is proving that price point is the most effective means of selling more consoles, second only to maybe a strong library (as Wii and 360 proved before, and PS2 proved before that ), is to release another more expensive console that is marginally faster and can be replicated by just buying and installing an SSD on the existing consoles, which you can do. Yeaaaaaaa, Microsoft has figured out the secret all right >_>

I like PS4's UI, and I don't give a shit about waiting a extra quarter of a second. Btw the PS4's hard drive is changeable. Without voiding the warranty.
