Why is purchasable weapon parts still not a thing?

Why is this still not a thing? Ever since HoW have weapon parts actually become a material that has started to run out for a lot of people, and that has continued over to TTK with weapon infusion. When you're infusing a whole lot of things at a time, it can take a huge toll on your weapon parts to the point of which you run out of them completely and you have no official means to getting weapon parts besides waiting for the game to drop the blue engram you need that is a weapon. You can't even efficiently farm them, you just have to wait for RNG to decide when you get it. Like other aspects of the game that involve this such as with some quest where you have to wait until RNG decides when you do something, that in and of itself is just poor game design. There should be an opportunity in game to gain the weapon parts when YOU want to make an effort to get them, not dependent on bullshit RNG. So, why not just make this a damn purchasable item already? I don't see any point as to why they still have yet to do this besides two reasons: 1. Bungie is that utterly ignorant and incompetent in game design (which I don't doubt, as was the case for almost the entirety of year one). 2. Bungie is purposely not allowing this for whatever bizarre reason, be it they like punishing the player for trying to play the game or it is being saved for later for micro transactions. And although they apparently denied that was going to happen, I still have my doubts because Bungie has already lied about some things with Destiny already. And before you make your stupid suggestions, the exploit you can do with the Trials of Osiris weapons shouldn't have to be a means to get weapon parts, the developer of the game should strive to improve the player's experience and create a legit means of earning these materials. And before you say something like "well why did you run out in the first place". Doesn't matter whether I ran out or not. Fact of the matter still remains, there should be a means of actually accumulating these things in game. Discuss with constructive post, opinions, and arguments, or you're getting blocked because I don't waste my time reading comments from the cesspool of idiots that dwell here.

  • BC destiny isn't about fun. It's about grinding. Almost anything that increases the fun is left out, but anything that will keep guardians grinding is kept in. Only the hoarders have tons of weapon parts. Id love to see weapon parts added, but I doubt it will happen. Actually it will prolly happen but it will be more expensive than its worth.

  • They deliberately nerf your materials and introduce new ones to transiently increase your playing time. If they allowed the same materials and weapon parts to be sold and used, everyone would hit max cap in a few days. But they introduce new materials and say "omg so much content, now you have to run around patrol for 50 hours picking up blue engrams and decrypting them, look how much gameplay have we added, TTK is filled to the brim with gamplay hours."

Bump. Because this is an issue that needs to be acknowledged and discussed. Not the dozens of spam threads or complaint threads that all complaint about the same damn things that need to be nerfed.

I have dismantled all of my pointless year one weapons...only the ones that are "collectible" for me are left. I am constantly sitting on zero weapons parts. Infusion you are a cruel beast!

            • I don't think you realize that this type of game has never been attempted before and it is probably incredibly hard to maintain, its a FPSMMORPG game. Also, if you could get WP as easy as you could before then there would be no effort to level up your weapons and armor, AND your Faction rep.

            • Why? Because that would break the faction rep system. (People would buy weapon parts for glimmer and turn them in to a faction...)

                • No weapons parts here. As soon as i get enough to infuse a weapon they're gone then i have to wait 3-4days to get enough for my next infusion.

                  • They are 833 glimmer a piece on adverage from the exotic copy machine. Just buy truths or some other year 1 heavy, and dismantle them, you get the shard back. Kinda spendy, but it works.

                      • Because weapon parts are insanely easy to get. I have no goddamn idea how you friggin people are in need of what I have an excess of. Maybe if you didn't waste thousands of them on year one gambling or year two faction rep... The latter is the more important part, IMO. Players should not be able to outright buy faction rep and that's exactly what most people would be doing.

                          • Probably so people don't turn around and sell them to the faction leaders for rep. That the only reason I can think of.

                            • There is no reason for it at all it takes little time to gain weapon parts from the game from engrams... It is not incompetent in game desing at all. You were not meant to infuse...infuse...infuse...infuse...infuse...infuse...infuse.. and never have to go grind for weapon parts..
