I stopped reading after the second sentence. Would it be any different if a Stormcaller of Bladedancer came towards you?
Dont give me that "You cant fight back cause of their health" arguement either. If it was 1v1 with either a Stormcaller or Bladedancer, 9/10 times you would die.
3v1, you should be able to take the other player out if you know what you're doing. One sniper headshot wont kill a Sunbreaker but it leaves them with a sliver of health, take out your primary and finish them off. How is it any different to using a shotgun to finish off a blinking bladedancer?
People are treating the Hammer of Sol as if its as bad as Thorn and The Last Word used to be, you would see at least six every match. Even a team of six Sunbreakers will only be effective for 30 seconds each per match, thats assuming they manage to get at least one kill before they die or get killed before managing to do anything.

-
I don't have a problem with a stormcaller wiping my whole team, they'd have to earn it
-
I main a Stormcaller and let me tell you, Ive had far more team wipes with Stormtrance than I have with Hammer of Sol. You walk in their general direction and hold the right trigger, easy kills.
-
Funny, I main a hunter and have had the opposite, far more team wipes on my Titan (before I deleted it) than on my warlock. It depends on the map though, but for consistency across all maps, Sunbreaker = Top.
-
I noticed, seems like everyone runs away when I use Hammer of Sol.
-
Yup it's a good thing too. Same thing with old bladedancer, I would think "F*ck them, they're not getting a kill on me, they want to cheese and use the easy mode cheap strategy then they can waste their time chasing me for one measly and non-guaranteed kill"
-
Last time I checked, I didn't need two golden gun hits to kill a Stormcaller or Bladedancer. In those 1 on 1 scenarios, it should be first to react get's the kill, not first to react unless you're a sunbreaker and can take a few hits and then react and still get the kill. When I shoot a Sunbreaker in the face to prevent him murdering an entire team, and clearly hit him with GG, that split second before he throws a Hammer, he should be dead... But instead he survives, and gets the hammer throw off which with it's ridiculous AoE kills 3 people. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't sunbreakers also get health regen for each hammer kill?
-
They do get health regen, but dont blade dancers as well? Sure Sunbreakers have a little more usage since it procs on grenades also but how often does a greneade save you from near death? A 1v1 situation with anyone using a super is almost a guaranteed death everytime. Yes you can fight and kill them, but most of the time it ends up with them walking away. I agree, Golden Gun should instantly kill anything, regardless of whether they are mid super or not. That is a change that should be made.
-
If you have the perk on. Many people don't use it. As there are other good vuffs in that column. For instance you make sunspots with a hammer and a pwrk means you can throw more and get an overshield while in a sunspot
-
The difference is that if you face 3v1 on stormcaller/bladedancer/etc - your chances are much more higher. Even chances that all 3 will be alive are quite high. When it comes to SB 3v1, you can kill him, but unless it is 3 snipers on the other side of the map - 2 of them would sacrifice themselves for sure. No one wants to be that one first kamikaze.

Edited by Blooddrunk123: 10/14/2015 7:58:04 AMWell imagine if instead of a Stormcaller or Bladedancer, how about a Gunslinger with Golden Gun? Would those three players have a similar chance of survival? I feel at least two die
-
May be. Or not. The chances are much higher to survive for more ppl as it ll take less time to kill GG and he ll have to aim.
-
It couldn't take too long to scan through a room and tag three enimies, especially if they are in close proximity.
-
We can have different opinion. My own experience tells that killing GG (1 shot shotgun for example) can be a lot more easier than SB.
-
Yes they would, because GG has no f*cking defense and canbe killed by ONE shotgun. It only takes one player to kill a GG, camping with a shotgun and it's over... What kind of bullsh*t is that?
-
Golden Gun has no defense but you cant say that a Gunslinger couldn't walk into a room and kill two players rapidly just as easily as a Sunbreaker. A good player will kill all three before they manage to get his shields down.
-
A "good" player. A sh*tty player can wipe a team with SB
-
And what else can a bad player do with the Sunbreaker class? Other then get a few kills for 30 seconds a match.
-
The same bad player wouldn't get close enough to get kills with BD, and would probably be one-shot killed with GG. SB is just a ranged uber tank mode.
-
Not if you walk into the room and there's a camper with a shotty, which is a frequent thing. If I walk into a room with GG, I'm not thinking "I can wipe everyone in here and not die"... I'm thinking get as many kills as possible with it before I die because more often than not, there's a good chance some scrub with a shotty will one shot me, or even one shot me with a grenade. As a sunbreaker, you can literally walk into every room, 99% sure you are going to kill everyone and not die.
-
You're obviously inexperienced
-
Ive killed quite a few Sunbreakers, without needing a super of my own.
-
They were obviously trash at the game because when I hit the bumpers with that class I see a breaker on the middle of my screen
-
So anyone that dies while using Hammer of Sol is a terrible player? Perhaps their opposition were just better?
-
Edited by xepic: 10/14/2015 7:38:26 AMMost of the time if people die in it without it being a super they are using it terribly which I can say for multiple supers (sorry for terrible wording haven't slept in 2 days)
-
I agree with Xepicw ... if the SunBreaker just slightly looks at you and throws hammer ur dead ! He failing to kill you with such a super weapon and you not being able to one hit kill them... they have to be bad if you kill them 1v1
