Sunbreakers are too powerful in Iron Banner

Literally 1 sunbreaker runs around and destroys everything on the map. If we are on the B flag and a sunbreaker approaches everybody has to run away and give them the easy cap just just he has hammers and that goes for any flag. On the other end of the spectrum with a sunbreaker on our team when he pops his super its like a sign of relief, everybody reloads their weapons, huddle up, maybe hand out refreshments and just pick off the little kills of the helpless guardians that never saw it coming. Something has to be done bungie....its just too powerful literally I can try super hard and be in the lead of both teams in score and a sunbreakers pops off his super twice and super passes everyone in the lobby and we automatically get a 3000 point lead. It just seems to me that they hold too much power in the game its like fighting that one elementary school bully who is twice your size, sure you can beat him if you can get more ppl to group up on him but sure a hell your going to die in the process. Obviously I will get a lot of comments saying I'm just crying please nerf but this is just getting out of hand like something needs to change to be on a more even playing field.

    • So I jumped into rumble... first time doing that on a titan just to see how HoS worked for me.... easiest win ever... wasn't even trying.... Seriously it was way too easy! I'm not the greatest at PvP but I love taking titans hos out with 2 sniper headshots. Its a great feeling! Personally idc if it's nerfed or not... I'll go to my titan if I'm getting my ass kicked too much and just need a stress reliever Haha. Its a very simple super to use. If you can't get 2 or 3 kills at least! That would be your problem..

    • The solution to this is to slow us in our super and make us produce NO orbs of light during the super. Also slower hammer reload. Because if there is a fireteam with two or more wearing alpha lupi you are going to lose. Thats all ive seen in banner so far is full fireteams of sweaties. Im good but a lone wolf player can only go so far

    • They're just about as bad as any other offensive super, but I do admit they seem [i]slightly[/i] OP. You sure don't hear about BladeDancer or Striker supers anymore. I won't even pretend to know what a fix might be (range? Speed? Duration? Other?) but even this Titan knows a really good thing when he sees one.

        Titans have always been my favorite class in Destiny so far; that being said, if you've used Sunbreaker, you should know it's really overpowered (if you don't, you obviously don't know the game very well). It's by far the best super in Crucible. Yeah, it's a super, and supers are supposed to be good, but there isn't any super that's as ridiculous as Hammer if Sol. I'll start with the actual hammers. There is literally zero effort in killing players with Hammer of Sol. The explosive radius on the hammers is extreme, and even if you miss, you can throw another immediately, almost without actually aiming. While there are some supers where you really don't have to aim, they often come with room for error (Voidwalkers get 1 Nova Bomb, Strikers get 1 Fist of Havoc). Even while aiming against aerial targets, the hammers seem to have a proximity detonation. Next is the movement. While you don't get a buff to your movement, you are fully mobile. This makes it almost impossible for a Sunbreaker to miss their target; they can chase targets down, and have more freedom to control the arc of their hammers. Finally, there's it's defensive buff. While I don't actually know the percentage, you gain a massive buff while casting Hammer of Sol (I'm fairly certain it exceeds a Bladedancer's). A Gunslinger requires at least 2 shots from Golden Gun (sometimes more) to drop a rampaging Titan. I've seen Sunbreakers survive a slightly fallen off Fist of Havoc and Nova Bomb. As a Bladedancer or Stormcaller, getting within any visual distance simply makes you a brighter target. And despite all of that, Sunbreakers have Cauterize, which I really won't even into much detail on. Aside from the obvious, it also makes it to where you can drop Hammer of Sol in the middle of an engagement safely and not give a damn, which no mobile super except maybe a Stormcaller with Landfall can feel comfortable with. Most active supers can be shut down either with tactics or multiple fireteam members. Most supers have a "comfort zone". Most supers have weaknesses, which can be exploited by players, or mitigated by users with proper timing and situational awareness. Hammer of Sol is the strongest offensive super in the game, demanding little precision from the user; judgement on casting Hammer of Sol in 90% of all situations is irrelevent because of its large comfort zone and area of effect. It also boasts one if the best defensive buffs out of all supers, combined with its mobility and tier ability Cauterize, it can easily warp momentum of any game state. This isn't me being biased either. I've been on both ends of Hammer of Sol in many situations. This is the result.

        • I have to disagree. First off, I will admit that my Hammer of Sol netted me a 3-4 kill streak in my last match with a total of 4-6 hammer kills. That said being said I did also take down 2 Titans with their supers activated unassisted in that same match, as did I get taken down in one of mine without landing a single hit. The hammers are nice (if they hit), but they are very erratic and easy to dodge. With a little effort anyone can do it much easier than trying to survive a Voidwalker or Nightstalker super at any range.

          • Hammer of Noob is completely broken. It should have been patched a week after TTK dropped, because even then it was obvious how unbalanced it was.

            • It takes a single nightstalker to counter a sunbreaker - and he can have two shots left afterward on his super. Alternately, throw a bubble up on the control point. He can throw all the hammers at the bubble he wants they're just going to bounce off. Or, use Golden Gun. Pow Pow and he's dead. I know, you'll say "Why do I have to shoot him multiple times?" to which I'd answer - why would you expect to be able to kill his super with yours and still have 2 more shots? All kinds of other things will counter a sunbreaker. Even just teamshotting him will drop him pretty fast - 2 or 3 people? I don't understand why all the Hunters and Warlocks are now expecting to be able to take down a Titan's super with anything other than their own super? I guess it's because up until now, Titans had no "sustained" super. They either had a one-shot smash, or sat in the bubble and waited for you to kill it with golden gun, or kill them from inside the bubble with nova bomb. You have supers too, ones that can take out the sunbreaker easily.

                Actually, Sunbreakers have killed me the least in Iron Banner so far. Golden Gun and Warlocks shooting lightning out of their hands while they fly around on the other hand...

              • Out of the 9 games I went through yesterday, I was killed by more hunters with golden gun than anything other super. So maybe golden gun needs nerfed. I mean, it's killing me so much that it means it has to be nerfed right? Because it's being overused and activated so often, it should be nerfed to not do as much damage and have a longer cooldown, right? Right? Oh, it's supposed to kill me in one shot? You mean I'm just bad at dodging? You mean I shouldn't charge at them and get them to waste a shot or two trying to kill me to protect my team on the other side so they can weaken them and take them down, but they don't because they're smart enough to wait for the super to end? Seriously, you talk about the hammer as if it doesn't use up super to run around. You talk as if there's no travel time between a hammer throw and waiting for it to come back to throw again. If you don't have time to get away, that would be Bungie's fault for making so many CQC maps, or your fault for not paying attention. I die quickly with Hammer. Maybe you're light isn't high enough and there's is? I mean, it's Iron Banner, and while Bungie doesn't understand how to make year 1 weapons useless in situations where they should be garbage, the person with higher light will win.

                    I like how so many people complain about sunbreaker be OP when there really not half the time I pop mine I get killed either by getting sniped/shotgun or getting one shotted by golden gun heck my friend jump over a guy who pop his in front of him and hit him in the back and killed him IMO sunbreaker are about OP as golden gun is

                    • Dude, Warlocks just all sticking together to speed up super recharge has been abused. the hell in the Iron Banner. I'm talking, 4 at a time all hiding together for 5 minutes then running around with lighting everyone and making orbs. It's 5 minutes of clumped up assholes then the rest of the game you face lightning supers. So dumb.
