Indomitable Light, if released, won't be sold for silver. We good fam. For now. Let it die.

Original post is in the spoiler:

Indomitable Light
Increases likelihood of weapon and armor drops from your next King's Fall foe.
This is absolute garbage.
It makes perfect sense why you designed the current loot system in King's Fall to be terrible; it was designed with this (highly likely) paid-for consumable in mind the entire time.
I just killed Oryx on my Titan and guess what I got? 2 shards. This is disgusting. If your company has even a shred of integrity left (doubtful), you'll make sure this item never sees the light of day as it is currently designed.

Edit: Here's a pertinent quote from Skillis Gillis in this thread: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/162579572/0/0/1
"Consumable items are nonreturnable"
Notice how there currently aren't any consumable items in the store, only emotes. This means that you can assume they'll be adding consumable items sooner or later.
Is there a chance that this will be an in-game drop? Sure. Is it highly suspicious that Tess Everis has this disclaimer with these consumables popping up in the database? Yes, yes it is.
Edit #2: Even if it ends being being an over-reaction:
1. It doesn't hurt to let Bungie know exactly where the community stands and the backlash they'll receive if they do something as stupid as this.
2. It says something about Bungie's/Activision's reputation that people would so easily suspect them of doing this.
2 SHARDS? BÏTCH PLEASE! I STRAIGHT UP GOT A BLUE ENGRAM ON MY TITAN FROM ORYX WITH NOTHING IN MY POST MASTER EITHER. Although I did get a 310 truth on my Hunter so i can't really complain either....
-
While I'm all for microtransactions, I would not pay for a consumable that increased likelihood of gear drop in King's Fall. I'm sure anyone who has completed King's Fall more than once would agree with me.
-
This will probably drop when you don't receive weapons or armor from a boss. Kinda like how 3oC works.
-
2 RepliesThe first time I went through Vault of Glass I got nothing but shards. The raid RNG has always been crap they didn't purposefully make Kings Fall RNG bad to somehow make people pay money for better loot. Even if that consumable did come out by the time it did most people running the raid will have complete collections of weapons and gear. I've ran it 3 times a week since it came out which was only a few weeks ago and I'm almost done with all 3 characters

Even if it's not going to be sold for real world currency, I still don't like the fact Bungie would make the drop rates absolute dogshit and then make us grind for, say, 30 motes, just to buy a buff to make the grind better. They could have just made the drop rates normal to begin with. Plus, why wasn't this in TTK to begin with if it affects the raid drop rates? If you honestly ask me, they were planning to sell it until the community quickly was about to torch their games. Now they have no reason to sell these consumables.

6 Replies"We aren't (nor are we planning) on selling consumables that buff King's Fall drop rates for Silver." -from Luke Smiths twitter. please bump this to educate people. thanks.

Luke Smith confirmed they won't sell it for silver ever

Ohhh you don't want us to sell pay-to-win consumables? What's that? You want us to give you things from the kindness of our heart? Sorrryyy our policy doesn't cover that. We value your opinion thoughhh, tell us again how you hate us for removing content and adding micro-transactions so we can work on "fixing" it for you.

9 RepliesDidn't luke smith tweet that those items won't be a part of the silver micro transactions?

Or maybe by consumables they are referencing a consumable vanity Item much like the good ol pumpkin heads we got last year? maybe they are planning on adding those to the game along with Emotes. And while I (like most of the community) am torn as to the need or request for a micro-transaction system in Destiny. I'm glad if they flesh it out with some vanity items aside from Emotes, while avoiding adding ships or shaders etc. This could be a good way to do just that.

i like how people are tearing up posts like this to make people wary of what bungie has a high possibility of doing to destiny. and what gets me, is that so many people are actually believing what luke smith is saying, after that little incident he pulled a few months ago. has everyone already forgot the f*ck up that bungie and luke smith did during that eurogamer interview? how can anyone trust what luke smith says after what he pulled? i for one, do NOT trust a word him, or bungie, says regarding destiny anymore. the proof people, is how none of this stuff showed up till tess everis returned, when the motes were nerfed, the coins nerfed, and the weapon parts nerfed. stuff that didn't need nerfed but did. so why do people trust luke smith and believe what he and bungie says?

1 ReplyLuke smith tweeted that it's not real and is not coming to destiny
-
That would be a gamebreaker for me but there has been plenty of times in vog and crota normal where we only got shards. Its messed up when it takes 20 and gives 2 though
-
Isn't that essentially the same as moldering shards?

4 Repliessoooo someone spends money to get better drop rates...the same drops you would get if you want to waste time grinding. dont see a problem if you dont spend money you get the same drops at the same current drop rate...which is low IMO i get shards but i do have a full set of raid gear on my lock.
-
1 ReplyI think it's going to drop but RNG grinding is the original way and unreliable, as we all know. This way you can pay for a little boost. Really if there is a market for it why not? I've always wanted to get destiny for my PS4 but I have no friends on the system. I'd pay to help my grind from scratch since I've put 800 hours in my Xbox characters and want to experience the different exclusives. I get consumables and cosmetics, just as long as they don't lock armor or weapons out I say go for it. New players who need sub classes or XP boosts deserve it if they want to pay for it. They earned their dollar just like you and just like bungie will one way or another.

16 RepliesWhy is everyone like "Luke Smith says..." Are you really that gullible? Who's the dude who said he would throw money at the screen for emotes? Seriously guys, he isn't the end all of what is to come.
