From the buyers point of view:
Player: *uses a microtransaction dance emote*
Player: "they probably think i look so bad ass right now"
From my point of view:
Me: "oh look, a player who actually spent real life money to unlock a different dance in a game...."
Edit: ok guys im sorry.. is that what you wanted to hear?... im sorry that i personally think paying money for a virtual dance in a game is stupid... as well as supporting microtransactions in a game we already paid full price for and over priced DLC expansions.
Edit 2: I dont get why people are calling me terrible names because of my OPINION. What do you guys want me to do, lie and say how cool $3 dance emotes are in a FIRST PERSON SHOOTER?
Edit 3: Ok guys you win ill join in... "YAY Lets all support microtransactions!" :D
Edit 4: i didnt even use the free silver.... especially since the ONLY 2 emotes i liked happen to be the legendary ones

4 RepliesQuit using the tantrum emote. You have a problem with me? I'll use the come at me bro emote. And when you fail, I'll use the golf clap emote.
-
9 RepliesWhether it's a Dance or a Weapon or a DLC pack. It's all in a game. They are all equal. They all have the same affect on my life outside of Xbox/PlayStation (none). It baffles me that people think buying a dance emote is any different than buying standard DLC.
-
It's cosmetic!!! Why does it bother you.
-
10 RepliesThey're giving us free silver. Everyone will have at least one dlc emote, genius.

2 RepliesEdited by Dreadsyth: 10/13/2015 1:43:36 PMOpinions are like assholes, everyone has them and they all stink
-
2 RepliesWe have a guy in our clan that bought the collectors edition emotes for $20, we make fun of him every time he uses them, it's funny
-
Microtransactions are pretty bad now in gaming, I agree. But, I'm gonna get my free emote because well its free.
-
Aren't we getting one or two for free? How would you know if the person paid for it.
-
13 RepliesListen do these guys.. They're comparing it to boats and cars even though it's a virtual dance xD there's a big difference. Emotes for $$$ is retarded. I could spend money on them and I could also just burn money with a match either way I wasted it.
-
1 ReplyDon't give in Chaos! I completely share your opinion in regards to emote purchases. I don't necessarily disagree with micro transactions, but in this case I disagree with their use. Why emotes? Why not something that can actually be of some value? I think one of the only cosmetic micro transactions I would pay for is a weapon shader pack. I'd love to see every weapon with a Dead Orbit shader. But that's it. Dance moves? They should have left that to the experts at Dance Dance Revolution.
-
so you wont spend your free silver on one of those emotes
-
They said they're giving every player enough silver to buy a couple. And emotes are the only things silver can be exchanged for. Soooooo..... I bet you end up with one too.
-
3 RepliesMy only problem with your post OP is the over priced DLC idea, do you know how many hours of work went into making this game? If the video game industry could get away with charging us 120 up front for our disc they would, but the common perception is that all that content, the immense effort a massive team of individuals works hard on is still only worth 60 bucks. That's just not accurate anymore, so I'll pay what I think their effort is worth just like you.

Somone is poor.
-
I heard they are using the money for future free dlc... soooo if that's True shut up and let people pay for my dlc lol.
-
Guess what OP, they will give free silver to everyone

Edited by Ash4711: 10/13/2015 1:58:29 PMAn optional DANCE that affects the gameplay in NO WAY will kill this game? Yea I doubt it.

Anyone ever play tf2?

You have a valid opinion and I'm not trying to change your mind, but cosmetics are fun. This is more than just a standard first person shooter, this is a very social game, and as such cosmetics have a certain appeal . Remember team fortress? People have spent so much money on hats in that game. They're just fun to have and use in the game. Personally, I want maybe 1 or 2 of the new emotes, but, as a poor grad school student, I can't justify spending any of my money right now on cosmetics. So I'm very happy they're giving us some free silver. Anyway, the emotes are just fun little things that add to the social aspect of the game. I think it's stupid to judge anyone for the way they do or don't spend their money. Hope that makes sense; just wanted to give a civil explanation for what people might want to get some new emotes.

Thats how the economy works dude. It's not important to you so you don't buy it. Not everyone shares your sentiment. The same thing could be said for other goods. For instance I think tablets are redundant and smart watches are a pointless waste of money. Obviously others feel differently and purchase these things but that doesn't make me any more inclined to spend my money on them.
-
1) it's a dance move 2) you get one free
-
8 RepliesIdk what the big deal is. It's a dance. People bought the collectors edition that already had all the year 1 stuff. Are they stupid for repurchasing the game/dlc yeah. Why did they do it? For emotes and exotic gear most likely. But it's THEIR MONEY. By them being slightly handicapped with money, it FUNDS THE GAME YOU like.
-
1 Replythey said you get free cash. unless i stumble across some extra money n have absolutely nothing worth spending it on, I'll probably only get whatever i can afford with the handout lol
-
2 RepliesEdited by Moot: 10/13/2015 1:33:51 PMCarlton is worth it.
