My reaction when i see someone use a DLC emote in destiny
From the buyers point of view:
Player: *uses a microtransaction dance emote*
Player: "they probably think i look so bad ass right now"
From my point of view:
Me: "oh look, a player who actually spent real life money to unlock a different dance in a game...."
Edit: ok guys im sorry.. is that what you wanted to hear?... im sorry that i personally think paying money for a virtual dance in a game is stupid... as well as supporting microtransactions in a game we already paid full price for and over priced DLC expansions.
Edit 2: I dont get why people are calling me terrible names because of my OPINION. What do you guys want me to do, lie and say how cool $3 dance emotes are in a FIRST PERSON SHOOTER?
Edit 3: Ok guys you win ill join in... "YAY Lets all support microtransactions!" :D
Edit 4: i didnt even use the free silver.... especially since the ONLY 2 emotes i liked happen to be the legendary ones

1 ReplyEveryone has opinions about things, if you don't want to get insulted you shouldn't post such a thing in a place as toxic as these forums. The blame lays on you. Personally I like the emotes and bought $10 worth of silver. I don't regret it a bit. I can't tell you how satisfying it is to slow clap when someone jumps off the edge in crucible or to bow when you've utterly dominated someone, as long as I keep having fun I don't care what anyone else thinks. You can look at my character and laugh or talk shot it won't effect me. But I'll tell you, you gonna be jealous the next time you do Crota and you are pointing while I'm making death threats towards him.

You pay real life money to watch fictional movies in theaters? How is this different? You paid $60 real dollars for a digital "unreal" video game. I bet people who don't enjoy gaming would accuse you of being as ridiculous as you claim our emote entertainment investments to be. For an older gamer like myself here is my CBA (cost benefit analysis) for you. Guardian Edition Original game $70 Taken King expansion $40 Digital upgrade $20 1000 silver currency $10 Total $140 $140/ 1000 hours of entertainment = .14 cents per hour That seems like a solid entertainment investment to me(whether I can physically hold it or not). I personally want to see Bungie be as profitable as possible so that they will continue to produce huge scale games that cost me .14/hour to play. Micro transactions are fine as long as the items offered don't affect gameplay at all which in this case they do not. Either buy them or don't but there's nothing wrong with a business wanting to make more money especially when it has already delivered such value to it's customers already.

Got one of the free ones to have something different. But even then you have to be careful. To get someone addicted, it's always easy to break down oppositions by giving the first one for free.

2 RepliesI spend my money because I enjoy the game, and no thoughts of badassery cross my mind. It's an emote. I also give money to the same homeless guy whenever I see him. It's just paper, can't take the shit with me when I die.

its all about the grieving one. i was disappointed not to see a "praise the sun" style emote though. not cool that i can't praise the sun in other games from other studios
