"Master Race" is disturbing and ignorant

I'm looking forward to our community vocabulary moving beyond terms with such an astoundingly inappropriate history. Edit 1: several people have suggested that "master class" makes more sense and is less loaded. AGREED! Unpacking the rest a bit: "Master Race" isn't a generic piece of slang or a term of unknown origin that gets owned and redefined by every generation (like every generation has a different take on "cool"). It's a term with a specific, verifiable, recorded history. Pretending the history isn't attached to the term (and the IDGAF shock value appeal of using it) is just that: pretense, and only works when other people are playing at the same social staring contest where they who care first are the losers. I understand the appeal of appearing unaffected. Apparent jadedness and disinterest bear a superficial resemblance to worldy-wise experience, and jockeying for position via ability to casually shock without being shocked is as old a game as any. There's a growing consensus that gamer culture desperately needs to grow up. The strutting bravado of the boy new to his power is a necessary moment, but the moment is past.
