Reforge needs to return...
Tired of getting guns with useless perks. I don't see whats wrong with everyone being able to get and use effective weapons.
Half of the available perks are far too situational, and most of the other half are just crap.
Reforging needs to return, only this time we choose the perks and elements. (2500g tier 3 perk, 7500g tier 1 perk/minimum gunsmith rank 10 etc etc)
Custom built guns from the gunsmith? Sounds about right...
Edit:- I'm dismissing pvp as a valid part of the game. If you play pvp regularly or play it enough to have an opinion on its imbalances, and continue to play it, your comments are irrelevant.
Edit:- the brainless drones are flocking...you don't want reforging because the perks are not balanced... Why not balance the perks? And then choose the perks you want?

Edit:- bungie please reintroduce "shankburn" perks... It seems the brainstrust that is the destiny community prefers shit perks to drop randomly, over good perks that are chosen... I've got some ideas for even worse perks I'm sure everyone will love..

The people complaining that reforge sucked seem to have mostly 1.3+ kd...Scared that everyone has effective weapons, and they don't have an unfair advantage...
Edit:-The problem with a large number of guns in destiny is that they aren't worth using due to the base stats, time to kill etc...a gun shouldn't live or die by its perks, and nearly all guns should be useful. Right now 90% of guns are dismantled because the gun is shit, and the perks are shit... What use is it getting guns you can't use?

As someone who reforged a lot.... NO it doesnt, all it did was encourage people to keep rolling for the perfect perks, ruining crucible with OP shotguns etc..... I will agree some of the current perks are crap however.

Reforging was like crack to me. I just reforged yesterday! I'm still working on a perk for a Yr1 HC I want to try in PVP. Hey, I ran out of parts & never finished what I started... I don't know if it needs to come back or not tho. I guess I wouldn't be bothered either way. And you're 100% spot-on. I RNG'd a 296 HC a while back, total garbage perks. It would've been nice to be able to reforge for something better.

Absolutely not. If they ever bring it back I sure hope it's without the broken ass perks from year one. You know.... final round, shot package, etc.. Otherwise keep it the way it is. I may not like some of the perks but for the most part they have been fine.

Should only be able to reforge a single weapon twice if it returns. Too many people grinded for the same exact gear. It frustrated me to get killed by the same shit over and over and to top it off everyone was using thorn

I agree we should have reforging in some capacity, but the reality is only a small amount of people including the creators are against it. I hate getting weapons and insta-deleting them, but it is what is. The only weapon I repeatedly get to drop is 1000 yard stare and the perks seem to get better with each one. Then there's the whole infusion process.... If knew how to snipe then I would be really excited about my most recent 1000 yard stare because it has hidden hand with high stability perks.

11 RepliesDon't want to reduce myself to insults. So I am just going to say reforging is not something I want back. Waiting for that perfect drop is exciting and makes you appreciate the good ones you do. With reforging you could turn any weapon into a beast. Makes rng pretty useless in my opinion.

Refoge should come back to banner and banner only it takes all the fun and self pride after you're rewarded with a gun with a decent set of perks rather than spending 100 motes and half hour rerolling it.

There should be guns for pve and guns for pvp. Pvp comes standard and pve is forgable. Easier for bungie to test. Pve effects noone.
