Oryx not completely dead?
My buddy and I made this post on Destiny Sub-Reddit earlier (that blew up) -- thought I'd start the discussion here as well...
Oryx's Soul is Alive in the Touch of Malice
Here's the post quote:
My buddy found this in the Book of Worms:

Oryx is still alive -- he's in the touch of malice...
Books of Sorrow, verse 5:9 -- That is all.
Here's an excerpt -- "So I will prepare a book, which is a map to a weapon. And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going. And then they will take up my weapon, and they will use it, they will use that weapon, which is all that I am.
And armed thus with my past, and my future, and my present (which is a weapon, a weapon that takes whatever is available, a weapon bound to malice), they will mantle me, Oryx, the Taken King.
They will become me and I will become them, each of us defeating the other, correcting the other, alloying ourselves into one omnipotent philosophy. Thus I will live forever.
I’ll make sure."
Given how hard it is to kill a Hive gods soul, and he planned for us to build ToM -- I'd say he's not 100% dead... That begs the question, what plan is Eris part of? She helped us build the ToM....
I love the way Bungie is unravelling all of the more...it just keeps building on itself and is setting us up for some super intense space drama!!
7 RepliesWhat if Eris uses necrochasm and touch of malice to bring back a worm god?
-
Well Crota's soul is still around, we tried to absorb most of it but were interrupted and even if you do get his entire soul into that crystal before the Taken arrive, he's still in your crystal. So I guess both father and son are around still in one form or another.

23 RepliesInteresting. Could someone please explain sword logic to me again? I still don't get it :( is it basically the sword can kill the body but not the soul? Or is it more than that?
-
4 RepliesI read earlier that Eris works for the hive queen who is oryxs sister
-
2 RepliesWhat? Who didn't know this already?
-
1 ReplyI think he just ment in the sense that you will pick up his ideals and beliefs and live by them as he did
-
Interesting. I knew he wasn't dead.

3 RepliesEdited by Minimal: 10/4/2015 1:00:27 AMSo does sword logic help to make oryx more powerful bc he is the ToM?
-
Well you kinda can see the ravenous heart in the weapon

5 Replies'Twould make sense... Oryx is a Navigator firstly and has been planning, foreseeing and adapting since he (she) first decided to burrow into the basement of the Universe. It would make sense he had a scheme in place to have a piece of him still floating around. He did after all perfect his scheming with Ahamkara assistance. And they know a thing or two about leaving tainted relics and artifacts around.
