The UNSC announced it though, and we can't say that he lived. I wish he were alive, but those rebels had to have killed him. It's sad to see him go.

ONI announced it in the new A Hero Falls Tv commercial. The rebels were just relaying the information during hunt the truth. They don't know whether he's alive or dead, just that ONI said he was. Something bigger is going on here
