During the platform phase at Sisters and Oryx this one guy kept saying that was too complicated for him to understand. Do people not know how clocks work anymore!?! I can't believe what I heard. Smh.
Is this happening to you?
Edit: the struggle is real
Edit: need clock, record player or rotory dial experience to raid with me

6 Replies"Counter-clockwise? What does that taste like?" But seriously, this isn't Rocket Surgery. If you don't know basic terms like that, then you are either 12, or dropped out of High School.

5 RepliesBest thing happened to me as a kid one of the uppity rich girls in class leans over to me and asks what time it was I said the clocks right there She then tells me she can't read those types of clocks. Analog clocks... So your family can afford two range rovers a H2 hummer and a brand new Mercedes but can't afford to help you avoid this situation? By far the greatest thing I've ever encountered
-
when oryx casts clockwise, you need to use a potion called "carry my ass" in order to counter it
-
2 RepliesI was once told I was retarded for saying clocks have hands...
-
I'm an exotic European, we have anticlockwise.
-
I blame the no child left behind bull crap
-
1 ReplyYou can't ask for common sense as a raid requirement, your player pool would be too small...
-
Yeah its in a horizontal line. Like when you put your clock on a counter. The counter is flat in a horizontal place so its level enough to hold a clock.
-
Wait I have a meme for this You stupid No I'm not
-
Nowadays "counter clock wise" means being smart about fighting against clocks. I mean bombs. I mean clocks that look like bombs.
-
lol, most of them dont even know how to tell time, unless its digital
-
Cellphones bro one dude in my art class didnt even know how to read the clock. Smh

9 RepliesI kicked a kid out because of this. We were explaining the fight and we said counter clockwise and he asked what we meant. The conversation went something like this: Kid: "what do you guys mean by counter clockwise" Me: "uhhhhh ok. So on analog clocks, everything turns in a circle, always going right. Counter clockwise is everything going left." Kid: "my phone doesn't turn right kid, I don't know what you're talking about." Me: "you don't know how to read an analog clock?" Kid: "what the -blam!- is a analog clock?!" Rest of fireteam: " quietly asking what the -blam!-" Then he got booted.

Some of my friends can't read a clock, they only have digital ones to tell the time. I always wonder how they never learned to read a clock.
-
Seriously.

1 ReplyNobody wears a watch anymore. Whats so wise about a clock anyway?
-
I have clock reading skills, rotary phone experience, and some record player knowledge.

2 RepliesShame... Each generation gets dumber and dumber. In 100 years, it'll probably be like that movie, Idiocracy.

To be honest I often find many raid issues of this nature are more maturity related not age related. Sure if they're younger it's more likely to happen but I have had plenty more adult "children" issues both in destiny and wow raiding.

4 RepliesI can't read old people clocks :(
-
Nothing more frustrating when running the relic and the order is messed up lol
-
They way some people describe it is why it's confusing to some of these kids in my opinion. A person in one of my groups was describing the process to some new ppl and they just didn't get it. It was explained a different way (and a little more thoroughly) and the kids got it. You gotta help them visualize the clock. Tell them where 12 o'clock is, assign a platform and let them keep etc. It's stupid but some people just can't visualize it. I think a bigger problem is their attention spans and the fact that they jump off the platforms too soon or just generally do something stupid lol

4 RepliesIt's more shocking to see how many idiotic people on this post are saying to say rotate left or right from the goal, when left and right is relative to the way you are facing and would be different for everyone on the fire team.
-
This is crazy, the amount of people actually arguing about clocks and their positions and if it's upright or on its side or if you're behind it and saying between x & y times you're actually moving left-right..it's a concept! Applied to the workings of a clock because that was supposed to SIMPLIFY it, and does simply mean right to left from a designated point, if there is any break from this movement mechanic you probably wouldn't use the term counter/anti - clockwise to start with (unless it was something simple/patterned like move anti-clockwise skipping every second platform...did your head just explode thinking about that one!?). Just seems bizarre people can't apply this.

2 RepliesMaybe he was too old to know what a clock is. I mean back in my time we used to tell time based on the position of the sun and stars.

1 ReplyEdited by AdunSaveMe: 9/30/2015 11:24:05 AMLots of people don't know what it means. Even when analogue clocks were commonplace, it was not a horrendously common expression. "Anti-clockwise" is used as well.
