Kids don't know what counter-clockwise means??
During the platform phase at Sisters and Oryx this one guy kept saying that was too complicated for him to understand. Do people not know how clocks work anymore!?! I can't believe what I heard. Smh.
Is this happening to you?

1 ReplyIf you have ever been in my calculus class, you will learn that clockwise is only a relative term. My teacher had a clock that had the 12 and 6 in the normal position and had the numbers going from right to left instead of left to right. It was painful to watch my friend try to argue why that clock went counter-clockwise for an entire class period... and lose...

Its so true, although i do admit that using digital clocks are easier, analog clocks will help with math skills and telling the difference between Clockwise and Counter-Clockwise, summing up all of the comments the simple answer is, lol PSN: Dragonvoid02

11 RepliesI have a really hard time believing that kids don't have any exposure to the term "clockwise" or "counter-clockwise". I mean, aren't many clocks in public places such as schools, libraries, government builds, prisons, ect still the circular style analog clocks? I would imagine that every kid must go to atleast one of these places... My car has the 2 hand variety clock and it's a 2014... as do several of my wrist watches which aren't old. I'm pretty sure most kit instructions also use the verbiage "clockwise" and "counter-clockwise" in the instruction manuals as well... I think it has more to do with kids just having sections of their brains a little underdeveloped. I know many kids have a hard time knowing right from left... but it doesn't mean they've never been exposed to the concept, just that spatial visualization and relativity are controlled by parts of the brain that tend not to be fully developed until they are a little older.
