Is anyone else disgusted by the quality of rocket launchers in this DLC?

I'm also talking PvE here. I don't use Rockets in crucible.[spoiler]Corrective Measure since '84[/spoiler]Perks are universal. I don't care about your awesome roll on your Smolder or Choleric Dragon cause they're garbage launchers. [b]How many rockets you carry doesn't matter, because a roll with tripod or field scout will max that out when combined with rocket ammo boots. [/b][i]Getting tracking added to your rocket launcher with cluster bombs because you have the Taikonaut is great and all, but [b]IF YOUR BLAST RADIUS AND VELOCITY ARE LOW, IT'S STILL A SHITTY ROCKET LAUNCHER[/b][/i]
The only good rockets appear to be The Vertigo and the generic Suros version you can get from the Gunsmith.
Just for clarification. A rocket launcher is to deliver splash DPS to an area. The most important stat is Blast Radius. How big the blast is. The next most important stat is Velocity. How fast the blast gets where it's going. If one of these is low, it's a shit launcher end of story. Doesn't matter what perks you got, or what exotics help it.

The PVE heavy nerf is tough. One rocket per purple crate is horrid. I was used to picking up four with my surplus sniper. I love the PVP nerfs but I wish they would fix PVP stuff without it effecting PVE.

Year 1 I was the luckiest person with launchers. I had 9 tracking, legendary launchers with other perks like 3rd eye. Year 2 they are all garbage. Last week I broke down and bought a year 2 Truth for times when I just want to shoot and forget.

I have a vertigo from FWC with tracking. The blast radius is big, who needs mini mirv?

I'm really happy with it, I wish they would buff hmg's more maybe give an armor shred perk on bosses or something. I use high impact ones and they hit hard on bosses. I was getting quite tired of always running a rocket in heavy slot.

6 RepliesEvery boss in year 1 was massacred by rockets. Year two has been pushed more towards a strategy, team work and use of skill/aiming ability. Well that's how I see it anyway.

10 RepliesI got a fatbody void FWC rocket launcher that kinda sucks and a 300 Seahawks arc rocket launcher with tripod...but they're both kinda disappointing. So I finally stacked up 150 legendary marks and bought the year 2 Truth. Problem solved for the moment

If they don't drop soon I'm leaning towards using marks on either Thunderlord or Truth I've always favored machine guns (plenty of rocket use too) but all the heavies seem lame for y2 so far still hoping I can infuse my Zombie Apocalypse some day....

I was really hoping for a Y2 dragons breath. From what I have seen they have been crap, but I'm sure I haven't found the right one yet

I haven't liked any of the ones I've gotten either. I have a 298 Choleric Dragon with full blast radius and tracking but the velocity sucks so if the target is in motion the tracking doesn't work well :( I never liked Year 1 Truth either, did they improve it at all or is it still the same old waste of space?
