Why "Shindig in the Crucible" is the hardest quest ever.
If you're a completionist like me, or if your just curious about this then alright. So if you haven't gotten it yet, there's a quest that Amanda Holliday will give you eventually rewarding you with "The Chaperone". Step 1 is to kill enemies with The Last Word to boost reputation with Tex Machinima. What sucks is that that gun has been nerfed. I mean it's miserable. If you use certain perks, stability is equivalent to Ill Will! You also need over a 1.0 kd ratio or you lose points. I literally cried when my 42% went to 2% in the same match. I am so angry. It's like an arbitrary system. If anyone knows tips on this. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Thanks and have an awesome day!

I nearly threw my controller off the wall a few times whilst doing this Typically I would play safe, build my super (Stormcaller) equip TLW and run into a Sunbreaker and get shut down Trick is to stay calm, pick your encounters, don't use TLW until you get Super and heavy ammo. What I ended up using to finish the quest was play control keep my super until heavy ammo dropped, equip TLW, zoom over to enemy heavy spawn pop Super = multi kills Grab Heavy = more multi kills Didn't take me more than 3 matches to go from 50% to 100% doing this

I went into classic control where it seems the competition isn't as stiff. Wrecked shop, filled it quickly, and took off. Stability is great if you hip fire up close. Use it like it was intended, not the "John Wayne rifle" of yore.

4 RepliesA regular kill is +1%, deaths = -2%, headshots = +2%. It keeps a running count as you play so a death or streak of deaths at the wrong time will negate any gains you made. If you want to avoid losing progress, play without equipping TLW until you get your super or until just before your team wins. Wins count as +3% and you don't lose progress if TLW is not equipped. I've only been equipping it before my team wins, I'm at about 75% and I haven't fired a shot with TLW.

I got that in 4 games. It's called being smart and not shotgun rushing like I'm pretty sure you did. And BTW if you saw your percentage going down, why the hell would you keep doing what you're doing and not switch the strat

1 ReplyHere's the reason why it's hard, you gain 1% per kill but u lose 2% per death so if you're running around blind u will end up losing more points that u earn, kill streaks will grant more percentage but at least more than half of the ppl trying get 1-2 kills then die

You dont even need the kills with TLW, and considering 90% of the playerbase use shotguns anyway, it shouldn't really be a problem.

Step 1- equip last word Step 2- swap to your secondary Step 3- DONT DIE AND GET KILLS Step 4- use your super to get sprees! Step-5 you should be done in no time. Basically you don't need the kills with last word just with it in your primary slot.

I got it in 3 games of rift I think. Didn't even use TLW much before nerf.

Meh, I did it in two games, I just went into classic pvp with my corrective measure & slaughtered everyone.

Equip it, play mayhem clash, lay low until you have a super or heavy. I didn't even have to use mine this way. I got it done pretty quick.

I did it pretty quickly actually, and I'm about average for PvP. I didn't realize that people were struggling with it until some of my clan mates who don't play PvP started complaining.

Don't have to kill with it, just have it equipped. If you don't like it just equip it whenever you get heavy and go on a machine lord spree. I used it the whole time, but only in close quarters. It can still be deadly.

Play inside buildings, hip fire, don't be too scared to play a little aggressive.

1 ReplyI didn't use "tricks" I used the damn gun. Stayed inside. Hipfired. The Last Word is a REAL Gunslinger's weapon now. It's still amazing if you know how to use it. [spoiler]then I got angry at the last 12 percent and pulled out ye old Felwinters. Won a rumble game without anything but FWL. Kek. [/spoiler]

Play mayhem with TLW equipped (any mayhem mode except mayhem rumble)! Hang back and use grenades and supers plus a fusion. You will have so many sprees that the quest finishes within a few games. Then it's buckshot bruiser which you can do in any normal control match.

Last word still melts people in crucible, just at a little bit closer range

Only equip TLW on maps you're confident with. If you have it equipped and the match isn't going your way, change to something else (I changed after maybe 2 deaths without kills). Try your best to get the heavy ammo. If you're a hunter, run golden gun, warlock stormcaller and titan...well that should be obvious. You get bonuses for kill streaks. Oh and control was easiest for me. I completed it during IB.
