Crota was invincible and Oryx was able to be hurt by gunfire? Why was he so easily killed?

Be cause crota was a spoit brat
-
I'm pretty sure he wanted to die or be on the verge of death from us. My theory is the energy he took from his sword was the same thing that turned our enemies into the taken. My theory is that for the final fight we go into his dimension, and fight him, but, in his taken form. Would make for a very interesting fight.

That was in our dimension, now (in the raid) we'll have to kill him in his dimension just like we did whit Crota... ~About Me
-
Also he didn't die he teleported
-
Cuz you gotta kick his ass in the raid
-
Because you are strong,oh legendary one. : )
-
1 ReplyBecause that wasn't the actual raid

Crota was fought in his own dimension. As a result only things from his dimension (the swords) can actually harm him. When in our dimension he separated himself into multiple parts (horcrux style) and was invincible as a result. We killed those parts in the story and then killed what was left in the raid. Oryx was whole in our world, so damageable. Now he's 'taken' himself. He'll return as a true taken king. Not only will he be in his own realm, he'll be even more powerful.

-
Because the true Taken king is Liam Neeson.

1 ReplyHe'd just come back from his sons funeral (death ceremony), clearly he'd had a bit of a rough day already before you came barging in his front door! ;)
-
1 ReplyDidn't eat his weaties
-
Why was skolas so weak the first time you encountered him? Then look what happened to him in poe35 after they removed the burns
-
We were in crota's world when we fought him, and oryx did not have his full power in our world. In the raid, I suspect we'll be going to the world he takes the taken to so we can fight him there, and he'll be at full power

2 RepliesThose deathsingers in the mission where you go to crotas spot looked terrifying
-
Thought this would be a joke. #dissapoint

5 RepliesKeeping a coporeal form in our dimension is taxing for the hive gods, who manifest naturally in their own fabricated deminsions, where they have access the (presumably) all of the power (net mass/thermal/hive energy) within that pocket dimension, and oryx's form still had most of the powers that the hive champions have had, including some serious light-punishing ablilities. If you remember all the work it took to try and get crota a body in our deminsion, but we stopped him before he was summoned, and faught him in a broken, weakened form, and still could only injure him with his own armament, and his mere presence could keep you from regening health. So oryx, having all these powers is pretty impressive, and the fact that we basically did nothing to weaken him, aside from destroying this inferior fleshy form, and we're about to go into home turf, i expect to see some crazy hive magic.

Because that's a story mission
-
1 ReplyCrota was in his realm and Oryx was in ours. Plus in the end Oryx made himself taken as he vanished. So the raid is probably taken Oryx.

Edited by OldManJenkins: 9/18/2015 12:46:41 AMBECAUSE WE DIDNT KILL HIM IF you actually paid attention you see that he doesn't die, he travels to another realm, which is probably his own realm where he is more powerful. Why is everybody forgetting about the raid?
-
I have a feeling he comes back in kings fall and he will be super hard to beat this time around
-
We killed crota on his home turf, his dimension. We shot the -blam!- out of oryx in our dimension, he is weaker here. Also it should be known that crotas world was governed by the sword (symbolically)and oryx's isnt.
-
Because story mission. Do you remember skolas story mode vs. Poe mode? Same thing.
-
1 ReplyIts a storytelling mechanic. The solo mission tells the story for those that don't raid and want to feel included. It should still be considered an epic-showdown where your character is an epic wielder of light. Further, he isn't dead, just retreated. The raid will have a different story-telling mechanic intended to be more difficult and require coordination between 6 players. That said, the raid might end up just being standing on rocks with sleeperhorn.

2 RepliesIf you read the book of worms (its ok you dont have to its a lot.) You would know (can also just use simple observation skills. You see himself use his own power and enter another realm smiling. Jesus how does everyone forget about the raid) that to kill one of the princes (or the king, brother/sister of the princes) they must reside within their throne realm. Their sword realm i think its also called. If they are not killed in their own then they are able to be reborn through their driven nature. Forgot which but off top of head. Xol roi or what ever was conflict and war. Saventhu or whatever was cunning and wit. And auryx who became King Oryx by killing his brothers outside of their rooms and learned of thier powers (war and cunning w/e) . So ya he isnt dead. We just bested him in this realm where he is in a way immortal

Because its a story boss
