So my son got a restriction today for backing out of matches in trials yesterday, and I grounded him from Destiny for a month. I know it is "just a video game", but cheating is cheating, and I will not tolerate it. The thing is he's pretty decent in crucible (way better than me), and he probably could've gone flawless with the right team. My ex wife doesn't understand it, but she backs my decision. He claims he didn't know, but we've had discussions about it before while doing random activities with myself and other clan members. What does the community think about this?

Should have hit him 1 time with the belt per game left

1 ReplyYou should have pistol whipped him.

I like it. Kids need to consider how their actions affect others. Contrary to what some posters have said, your son's actions affected more than just the imaginary world of Destiny. There were five other real people depending on him. By dropping out, he reduced their enjoyment of the game, not just the effectiveness of the imaginary characters. Actions have consequences.

Good on you! Now if you can go round everyone elses houses and do the same to them the crucible would be a better place

3 RepliesIt's not really cheating, it's being a coward and it's a cheap move. Bungie does not approve.
-
........... Idk what to think.
-
18 RepliesHe's only trying to complete something. Bungie forces players to do this, it's their fault. Your a PSYCHO who should focus on real life stuff, not what your kid does in a fake video game world. What if he played GTAV and walked up to a pedestrian and killed them in cold blood....would you call the police or psychologist?

1 ReplySend him to Adrian peterson's house. If that doesn't work... Jared from subway.

Good he is going to be somebody someday. Now show him "Paint the fence" and "wax on, wax off" We will get to the chop sticks later...
-
Beat him, kids these days need beat more often! If parents would make there kid go break a switch off a tree to get there ass busted with there would be a lot less disrespectful children.

only ramen for dinner, oh wait that's me...

Well ur son shouldn't be grounded jus off the Xbox for at least after u get get done with the trials because I'm trying to did good players to team up with me
-
Probably should consider putting him on probation with your clan as well. That's poor form on his part.
-
1 ReplyHe probably went this extreme for cheating because his wife cheated on him and now he is salty eyed. Hence the ex wife bit.
-
5 RepliesI would find it very embarrassing that my dad would share this on a gaming forum..
-
6 RepliesI applaud you grounding your son for cheating. Teach him now so he knows. However the fact that he cheated is also a reflection on you and failures as a father. You should also take a one month grounding from Destiny as punishment for your lack of guidance.
-
Yep, I don't like cheating either.

4 RepliesHave you ever used God mode in a video game?
-
I agree. It's important to teach these lesson while they're young. Taking shortcuts is a bad habit
