Alaska ISP download cap prevents getting The Taken King

I'm posting this on behalf of my brother in law who lives in Metlakatla Alaska and he has one ISP and they put a 25GB cap on their downloads so with all taken into account the size needed for the taken king, he's not going to be able to purchase the game because of download limits, so we're wondering if we could buy the digital and it be put it on a disc and send it to him or are there other ways for him to get it? thank you

  • Regarding an external HD, for Xbox you can download the game to an external HD for him (using his account on another console) but must it be formatted for Xbox games. Good luck guardians!

  • Alaskan here. Do you know who his provider is? Recently with the FCC ruling most providers up here have adjusted the way their data caps work. In most cases you pay for, in his case, 25gb at a broadband speed but once that is reached you bandwith slows. If I hit my cap I drop from 50mbps to about 1-2mbps. I live in Anchorage so its a bit different than one of the villages.

    • Xbox One Games can be saved to, and accessed from, external drives now. You could sign into his account on another Xbox One, purchase it, have all the Destiny game data stored on that HDD then send it to him. If the content is purchased on his account then it should be accessible when he plugs the External into his own Xbox One. That is if he has an Xbox One, as for PS4...I don't know.

    • It may be a cap but you can usually pay a fee for going over your cap. I have a much higher cap of 250gb but pay extra when I exceed it

All suggestions below are unfortunately wrong. TTK does not come on disc it is only by digital download because it is an expansion.
by this I mean with the physical editions, TTK comes as a download code.
Bungie won't put it on a disc with destiny. Unfortunately if there is a download cap then I don't see many options. Can he not just spread the download over a couple of days? Pause/restart.

        • Think he would have to buy the Physical Legendary Edition and do it that way. Not sure if it still is, but if you have Prime on Amazon it was/is 50 dollars instead of 60.

        • He's probably out of luck. Don't know any method of installing to an external device.
