Engineer for there high horsepower division. Love the job.

So how you like that 200lbs-ft of torque reduction? Should have bought a auto.
So how you like that 200lbs-ft of torque reduction? Should have bought a auto.
Haha I live in the rugged terrain of the west where there is a lot of hills. Stick shift is the way to go plus cummins is a torque machine.

Not much of a torque machine when mated to a manual trans.

Edited by Undiminishable: 8/27/2015 4:18:10 AM
Not much of a torque machine when mated to a manual trans.
My truck is geared low. 2000 rpm at 65. With the lower gear ratio plus stick, yeah it's high torque look it up lol. I'm only losing 40 lbs of torque compared to auto transmission but it's still good. Over 600

Those years the manual was rated at about 600lbs-ft while the auto got full boost and was turning out over 800lbs-ft of torque.I'm rather a gear head with a passion for rock crawling(hey I do live in Colorado, only 6 hours from MOAB) so you can't bullshit me about tow rigs. Your not geared very low,my Jeep is geared much lower(3100rpm's at 65mph),sure only a measly 66:1 mechanical crawl ratio(3:1 1st gear x 4.3:1 t-case low range x 5.13 axle ratio) with a auto but after factoring in the TC(torque converter) reduction I'm actually well over 135:1 crawl ratio with a unlimited start crawl ratio due to the TC.I have to give it gas to go down hill,on a 15% downgrade if I take my foot off the skinny pedal the Jeep will actually stop by itself.

Edited by Undiminishable: 8/27/2015 4:57:18 AMI know people that rock crawl as well. You can't run an auto tranny rock crawling you'll burn it up. Mine is not geared that low cause it's a highway vehicle. And yes I said my truck is rated for 610 lbs of torque. When I go rock crawling I'm not taking my 33k dollar truck lol http://m.cumminshub.com/67.html Auto is rated at 650 lbs

Okay, then why are almost all the vehicles that compete in KOH auto's? To funny about "you can't wheel with a auto because it will fry it" statement.I've seen way more manuals fry there clutch on the trail then a auto self destruct because of heat(it's called a tranny cooler and properly maintaining your vehicle).Auto's have surpassed manuals in everyway in the last 10 years. Oh and I have well over $33k in my Jeep and bash it on the rocks when ever I can, that is not even including the vehicle cost when I bought it.My old tow rig and trailer cost half as much as what my Jeeps worth. Yeah and in '10 when the auto Cummins got 800lbs-ft the manual still only got 610lbs-ft,huge difference.

I'm not worried about my torque lol Every rock crawler worth his salt knows that a Toyota 4Runner is the only way to go. You lost me when you said "Jeep." ;)
