Another Bungie Critic gets banned
Yesterday, yet another outspoken Bungie critic was banned by the Bungie Ninjas.
In an exchange with another player in the forums, BoomerSooner51 called someone a "buttsniffing fanboy". Clearly, this language violates the code of conduct. Neither he nor I argue that point.
Now, generally, I am not one to promote conspiracy theories, but something here is not right. What's troubling is that it [i]feels[/i] - and yes, that's all I have to go on: a [i]feeling[/i] - like the ban hammer has dropped much more swiftly on these two Bungie critics than on the nasty masses Bungie is afraid to alienate.
I regularly receive nastier, more hateful messages than what either LostSols or BoomerSooner51 wrote. I report most of them...only to see the [i]exact same trolls[/i] posting the [i]exact same venom[/i] the next day. Bungie Ninjas will tell you "we can't catch 'em all". Fine, I understand there is a mountain of reports to go through each day, but what these guys got banned for - without warning, I add - is pretty benign compared to a lot of the nastiness that goes unpunished.
Despite the profits, this game is a disaster. It's received overwhelmingly bad reviews. Bungie and Activision are desperate for good press, and as you know, desperate times call for desperate measures.
Stay vigilant, my friends. Be careful not to cross that line. Despite Bungie Ninjas' insistence of neutrality, we have targets on our backs.
And for you doubters out there, keep in mind the company you're defending. With the latest news on TTK, it's clear that Bungie is quite comfortable lying to you to keep you throwing money at your screen.
And if you don't hear from me for a while, you'll know why.

3 RepliesI gotta say that I have gotten banned twice without knowing and can't think of CoC stuff I violated. Both times were after criticizing bungie. And they don't even tell you you're banned. You can even make forum posts you just realize it when there are 0 views and comments even on the test click bait posts like Gally sucks, etc. then 2-3 weeks later you aren't a ghost anymore. It's crazy

5 Replies1) No such thing as "bungie ninjas." Ninja's are members from the community like us who give their free time to try and keep this a polite and clean place with no compensation or rewards from bungie. 2) As with threads if a person gets reported enough they automatically get banned/locked and await a ninja to look at the case. (I know this is how threads are dealt with. I'd be surprised if people were handled differently.) 3) The ninja's can't catch everyone. I see offensive people here all the time or people breaking the rules one way or another. Really the only people who get caught are people who are the loudest and known by many. So if these 2 people were well known here it's no wonder they were pulled quickly. Easier to find them. 4) The rest of this is just tinfoil hat nonsense with no substance. Some of us enjoy the game. And there is nothing wrong with that. Everybody lies. But at least bungie makes up for it in my eyes.

15 RepliesI'm surprised more people aren't banned. I've been a member of a lot of forums over the years, and even moderated a few of them. Banning people for inappropriate conduct was a normal thing at the discretion of the moderators. Bungie gives people a very long leash on these forums. Too long in my opinion.

1 ReplyLol, when I first made an account to post here it was to bash Bungie and Deej for Destiny. I cussed, I used all caps, I called Deej mean names and insulted all associated parties. I not only made these comments in replies, but started my own threads and replied to Deej's comments directly, so I know they saw them. I was never banned. Given the nature of my comments of old I have to think this guy made a pretty nasty comment/attack on Bungie or one of its employees specifically.

12 RepliesYou're just wrong. This game did not receive overwhelmingly bad reviews. It just didn't. I would say "6 out of 10" is the most common review. That simply isn't "overwhelmingly bad." Now maybe you're hyperbole is due to your feeling that the ban hammer is being used unfairly. OK, I get that. But if your response to unfair treatment is to then make unfair claims... Well. Pot and the kettle, to you sir.
