Pick a system and stick with it, please.
First I can upgrade exotics, but not legendaries. Then I can upgade both. Then I can't upgrade legendaries OR exotics... except for some.
I have had to re-level every exotic I had. Then I didn't have to re-level them at all. Now I will have to re-level the select few you let me keep. Again.
Please don't get me started on the absurd number of currencies I've had to deal with over the course of the last year.
I know you're new to this style of game and you've been figuring this out as you go, but it's been frustrating to have the progression systems change so much each time. With the first two expansions I did my best to be prepared, but with HOW I basically stopped after my characters hit 34 because I didn't want to spend hours upon hours of my life chasing things that wouldn't matter when the next expansion system.
And frankly, it was a dick move to add a system for upgrading legendaries and then turn around and take all of them away with the next DLC. It would've been better if you'd never introduced etheric light at all.
Of course things will change over the course of a game with this sort of lifespan, but not so drastically or so often. Pick a system and stick with it so the players can consistently have a general idea of how Destiny works.

I've said this before, Defiance on last gen does everything this turd does only better albeit in third person. Destiny is nothing more than a cash grab, selling no content which forces you to grind old stuff over and over. Hell the livestream the other day was making a huge deal out of vault space, that kind of stuff should get added as an update not marketed as part of your -blam!-ing expansion. Clueless.

With more access than what they were previously given. I can understand tweaks to the system, buffs, etc. But these massive re-works are wasting each players time, [i]big time.[/i]

Edited by RegencyLion: 8/21/2015 7:16:26 PMa very well put argument, i totally agree with you, i love this game and will continue to play but somethings are ridiculous, farming mats only again they gave us a choice buy or farm then they take it away ridiculous, why? then the exotics, i understand the nerf for gally and agree with it but why make the most sought after weapon irellevant, nechrocasm and hardlight have sat in my vault for ages because although they are great looking and sounding they were underpowered now they buff them but dont bring them up to yr2 levels, wheres the sense in that? i know that more exotics will be upgradeble at a later date but given their history they should have been in the first batch, no brainer, if only bungie could be clearer in letting us know what is happening we would all be a lot happier,

Agreed. I like house of wolves ascending, didn't need to worry about upgrading weapons again. There's only so much XP you can get easily per day, and that's not even enough to fully max out an exotic sometimes

bungie is full of whatever it is that stinks because this game is full of it too. they cant stick to anything they have said prior to the ttk reveal. a bunch of damn liars if you ask me. you say they're new at this really i mean really people thats a load of whatever stinks too. get a grip and quit trying to make it what its not its afun game with friends and thats about it. if all old content is being left behind then all we will have to do is one raid, strikes and crucible. what about all the other stuff so it leaving us with even less to do...gotta go at work!!

Basically we just have to accept that Destiny's progression system is completely made on the fly and with the exception of force deleting guardians/vaults literally every aspect of the game is up for grabs. If the last two expansions taught me anything then don't dismantle things you'll regret. It's entirely possible year one legendaries will get upgraded in some way the dlc after. Same with exotics. Your guess is as good as mine is as good as Bungie's. Collective yelling got fatebrigner from 300 to 365 and brought the mythoclast back from the frozen dead so we can do it again.

4 RepliesI agree, but you have to understand that this game has been a work in progress from the very beginning. Its an entirely new type of project, and so they are mostly just trying things out to see what works.
