Ascending Legendaries to Exotic status
This recent upcoming patch has had me thinking. How about instead of making the popular good legendaries of year 1 seem irrelevant when TTK comes out How about we elevate Fatebringer, VOC and Black Hammer (if Black Hammer was to be upgraded it would need more ammo in the reserve mag after the nerf) to Exotic status. That way everyone would still have their guns they enjoy using but it would compete with every other exotic. People would have to start choosing between these guns or the likes of Gjallarhorn and Icebreaker. People would still be willing to try the weapons in TTK. This could be a yearly thing at the end of every year you could ascend a few of that year's good guns to exotic status.

But legendaries aren't nearly as unique as exotics so that would require a complete redesign of the weapon

The whole point of legendary guns is that they are the equivalent of certain exotics. For example black hammer is similar to ice breaker, hunger of crota to gally etc. So no they don't need ascending

2 RepliesYou do realise that an exotic is a legendary with just one or two distinctive perks? So how can a legendary without distinctive perks become an exotic? It will still be a legendary but with a yellow border that's all and waste a spot for a true exotic.

But the way it's going, after they keep nerfing every perk people whine about, there will be nothing exotic about exotics.

1 ReplyExotic is because of a special perk. Exotic weapons are just legendaries with a special perk.

Etheric lights bring legendaries to exotic values; thats what they were for and they are limited for only the duration of HoW DLC release to TTK release
