So, I just started playing on XBox 360 and I'm a level 27 (got lucky with a blue engram & it turned purple). A few days ago, I tried my hand at Crucible. Well, trying to make new friends, I had the "manually opt-in when solo" option for team chat on and then everyone else on the team also joined team chat because they were in a fireteam. Probably because I'm a girl. -_-; So I'm not the best PvPer. The heavy drops, enemies were coming but they were screaming at me to wait. I couldn't wait because three of the enemies had supers. So I took it and died right afterwards. They were like, "I hope you choke on a dick and die, you c*nt." Then, I started getting kill after kill. "Stop stealing the kills! I wish I could kick you from the game & in real life." I ended up on top of the leaderboards because the rest of my team was awful. But the worst one: "I hope you get ovarian cancer and are never able to have children so they don't turn out as ugly and awful you are."
I left the team channel and started to cry because I actually can't have kids. ):
Edit: I did not create this post for attention, I am not lying about it, I reported every single one of them to Microsoft. Oh, and another thing: to those of you who were sad to hear my story, thanks for your condolences. The rest of you who are just here calling me an attention whore, you can STFU because I just wanted to share my story and did not expect to get this many responses - good and bad. I learned my lesson. No more team chat for me.

FINAL EDIT: I don't want empathy or sympathy and I am aware that guys get trash talked to them too. I just wanted to address the situation I was in. I needed to vent. I made a mistake by not muting my mic or just leaving the team chat, like everyone has so rudely suggested and calling me names because I failed to do it. I was not thinking due to the tears in my eyes and trying to keep my composure.

Here's an idea, if someone's being rude and hateful to you then -blam!-ing mute them. There's already enough shit being stirred up here and a gender war is the last thing we need. That's it. One time some girl told me to kill myself because I wasn't using my gooberhorn in crota. 96% of the player base for this game are raging losers. But a rant post isint the way to deal with them. Create and alternate bungie account and name and shame them. The whiteknights will be on them like piranhas.

Just don't hang with them. It's that simple. Join a clan (not to big though but not to small) and make friends there. I'm on 360 if you want to add me.

pub comms are optional, opt out, or better yet leave. join a different lobby. they will be down a player (at least for a minute or two) they'll have a bad game and probably lose and you'll be no worse for wear. it feels like letting them win but in reality they will likely lose.

Usually I don't take the females side but boy that was excessive. Def. must of been children. Ovarian cancer probably exceeds a level of trash talk. I've seen those type of players before in all game. Must be nice to be able to hide behind a screen.

Reporting somone through Microsoft doesn't do anything. Reporting them in game on destiny is how to get results

Please please please stop explaining yourself to trolls on here. Do not justify what they say by explaining that u aren't lying. Anyone that thinks someone would lie about that on a forum must be the kind of person to lie like that. Because they do it they expect it of others. Your story is sad but unfortunately not unique. People are ass holes. A person is reasonable. The trolls on here are the kind of people that If you where in a raid with you they would probably be nice as pie. Don't let them get to you. They simply exist to inflict negativity on others. It's the one part of destiny that I hate. There are so many amazing kind people on these forums but it's the small few that are for all intents and purposes evil that ruin it. Many are afraid to post anything because of the negative spin that is put on 90% of the posts. yeah this is why i play with no mic by default. PvP filled with people that forget its a game, and would not talk like that at all if these people where face-to-face.
