I feel bad for you. Not because you needed to buy it from Xur, but you will never know the feeling of seeing a Gjallahorn randomly pop up on the right side of your screen and the bloody excitement you get. It's one of those moments in gaming that feels so good.
Now, you will never experience the joy of being Blessed by RNGesus

salty tears are very tasty. Don't forget to throw more money at the screen

Another one of these...

6 RepliesI had gjallarhorn drop. I was neither excited nor celebrating. There was no sense of achievement. I was actually disgusted with how long it took and how many teens of multiple drops had come before it.
-
Don't feel bad man. It's ok. I'm glad I finally got it
-
#lfm must be 34 must have Gally.....oh wait now that everyone will have it I'm gonna cry
-
Sure the feeling of getting one through rng is nice.....but I had the same feeling when I saw xur selling gjallarhorn.....in fact.....I felt no difference at all, the feeling is the same

Edited by Coubacca: 8/14/2015 7:26:54 PMI'm sure the people that have been playing for hundreds of hours with no luck felt the exact same way you did when they saw it pop up on xur's list. I know I would have when I was at the 500 HR mark with no luck.

Your right

4 RepliesI can actually agree, when I got my first from the VoG chest back in November I flipped a shit. I did a victory lap around my apartment and held my new baby through the rest of the raid. Its not about owning it, its about experiencing the drop in its glory.
-
I just had that 2 days ago :/
-
I got so happy when I saw the gjallarhorn on Xur's list. The same reaction for when I got Hawkmoon.
-
2 RepliesI didn't buy one... http://imgur.com/yU8aARF
i bought all of them
If the RNG wasn't horribly broken (and looks like it's getting fixed in TTK) then I'd agree with you. However the loot system is a mess so you don't have a valid argument. Hence, Saltpack Rounds away.
-
Life must be sad if that's what gets you excited.
-
And I care? It's still excitement to see it in xur inventory.
-
They probably had a similar feeling when they saw it being sold this morning lol.
-
What about those who bought it week 2? Were they robbed too?
-
1 ReplySaw it drop for OTHER people lots of times. 974 hours, 2 minutes, Sign of the Elders, 172,225 kills, 3,689 rocket launcher kills, 3400 grimoire score, had to buy 1st Gjallarhorn.

Oh boy, another Mute to add to my collection!

Edited by ProFive94: 8/14/2015 7:22:29 PMAnd you'll never know the feeling of playing since day one, doing strike after strike, nightfall after nightfall trying to get a stupid rocket launcher but failing constantly. What's even worse is when you get into a party with some guy and he's all like," yeah I just dismantled my 15th Ghorn". And then you just sit there with your fists clenched in utter silence and pray that he will shut up, but he never does. And then finally you decide to get on destiny one day and your prayer was answered. It took nearly a whole year, but you had finally found the treasure you were looking for. In all honesty, I'll probably never use the thing. I just thought it looked cool. Why would I use something that tore everyone apart? If you ever go on destiny LFG and look at some of the posts, 80 percent say max Gally only. So wouldn't I just be feeding the fire? (That and the fact that I like machine guns.) the point is (or was supposed to be) that anyone can be carried through a raid or nightfall and anyone can get exotics, however those facts always seem to be related to eachother.

1 ReplyWe can just move it from the vault with the app to get that experience we missed. Personally as someone who's played since beta, I was tired of waiting for RNG.
-
I found it randomly in my inventory so get good
-
Other way round. If you've NEVER got it until today, you feel even more surprised than a random drop from whatever. You can theoretically get it from anywhere in the game, the chance that Xür would sell it is 100x less likely than a random loot drop.

True story OP. I said something similar months ago. Xur will sell the Gjallarhorn, it won't be special anymore, and people will suddenly realize "well -blam!- me, what do I hunt for now in Destiny". I've played for 6-7 months and for me, having something to grind for is all the fun in Destiny. I'm curious how many "I don't know why I should play anymore" topics will pop up in a few days/weeks.
