I main a Titan.
The invis perk makes up for the weakest super in the game because it allows someone to sneak up on someone undetected and shotgun them in the face. I still think it's the weakest super in the game though. Discuss.
Update: it seems that the non hunters have no idea what they are tslking about. Try playing a BD you will see that their super is not OP at all. Go ahead and say the Defender is the weakest. Meanwhile, it's one of the best in PvE thus negating that argument from an all around stand point.

6 RepliesI wouldn't say weakest at all. A lot have people have wisened up to Arc blade since release, could get a gutted medal almost every match in vanilla, but just like every super, people have learned to counter them. It's all just situational and i find with supers, can be a big game of rock>paper>scissors. I agree, they can be lackluster in PvE, however, if you're lucky enough to have a brawler modifier on: Switch to Mask of the Third Man and Encore, very fun and rewarding. I can't tell you how to play ur BD, but i'll offer some insight into my playstyle for PvP: Khepri's Sting - Crouching grants invisibility, x4 melee damage from behind when invisible (actually works from the sides too = 1-hit kill as someone rushes through a door), this means i can spec into hungering blade, adding more survival utility to both Arc Blade and Blink Strike. (Extra SGA: Khepri's are ugly AF and hard to find shaders for, predawn is a good match, but Oracle99+FWC cloak is very stylish, especially with FWC armor) Now down to business. -This is a no-brainer, i use Blink, as much as i like to retain invisibility, every other jump screams "please wait there a second, i'm just coming up to try and kill you." - How i use arcblade: 1. Currently at most kills early into the match - first to have super up, nobody is going to have supers to counter it. 2. close to a control point or heavy ammo spawn, don't pop it prematurely, dead giveaway, sprint and blink in above a pack, pop arc blade. I found that people will naturally jump away, making for some easy mid-air kills and making yourself a hard target as you surge between enemies. 3. Go out swinging, my super is about to deplete, but i have khepri's sting - I use the last ounce to vanish, get a 1-shot kill with blink strike (escape artist), maintaining invisibility to line up another 1-shot melee from behind or sides. This scenario helped me a lot in situations where my super has gone, so a sunsinger has revived only to get hit from behind+poisoned and left to die again. 4. Scare tactic/Confusion. Generally in team situations, i could look like an idiot chasing people around with Arc blade without a kill, but i'm also causing a distraction and herding enemies away from control points or into killboxes for my team to take care of. Overall, i feel arcblade is just like any other super, can be dominant if used in the right situations or weakest if used at face-value. Don't like getting shut down by FoH? be more wary going for that titan waiting for you a yellow box around his lvl tag. a backwards blinks will generally even things out. Divebomb that golden gun, Razor's edge that titan bubble, blink out of nova bomb. I'm happy where Arc Blade is in crucible, i feel it's quite balanced in crucible, but for the sake of changes, i wouldn't mind a special shield that adds resistance to melee attacks - making PvE more viable and crucible hilarious in Arc Blade vs. Arc Blade situations.

pve i only use for invisibility and arc burn other than that i use gunslinger
-
In pve use razors edge. It hurts and stagger locks anything big, and kills anything else, all while keeping you out if melee range.
-
Yeah in pve. Needs to be buffed there a bit. But in pvp. Don't even start.

I personally main a hunter and in my opinion, bladdancer is the weakest super when your up against other supers. Its too easy for fist of panic, voidbombs or goldengun to kill you. Any one of those supers and your done which is like 85% of all guardians. Unless you get a group of superless guardians bladedancer can be very innefective. With that said it also has the highest probability for multi kills. Very easily can you sneek up on the enemy and just rip up 2-4 enemies.
-
Depends on where you use it and what you use it on. It does kind of lose it's effectiveness in end game activities ( Heroic weeklies, Nightfalls, Raids, etc ). Yellow bar enemies take to many hits to go down and the Bladedancer is in high risk/low rewards scenario when blade dancing.
-
Same because I was a blade dancer going after a warlock. Got a shot gun hit and a melee from the warlock while I was in mid swing. I was full health. That's not supposed to happen

2 RepliesWith BD you can cover so much ground and basically one hit kill people. If you play it right you can knock a team out in ToO. It's a beast in PvP but Golden Gun is a must in PvE.

Edited by MrPoPo33: 8/15/2015 8:50:08 PMI've been playing with it a lot lately and you people don't know how to use it, in one week I've already gotten more quad kills with my super than I did with FOH over months of playing a striker (and I was ALWAYS going for the big score with my FOH) blink/invis/hungering blade blade dancer is straight up dominant, stop sucking
-
Fist of havoc - blink away Ward of dawn- juke and stab the whole team that think they're safe in the bubble lol
-
I hope this is I joke... I have one of each character all 34 and I love BD. Going invis, then shanking a shit ton of people is OP.
-
Then how come, on average, I see hunters get 2-4 kills almost every time, but FoH only gets 1-2?

2 RepliesEdited by Kizo: 8/15/2015 2:02:20 PMI main a Hunter and Arc Blade is definitely the best, or very close to it, subclass for PvP. (IMO) Blink and Fast Twitch + Hungering Blade make it a very strong class in Crucible, and getting rid of HB for Stalker just isn't worth it. But about how OP we are... It is sort of OP but that mostly depends on the user, as with the case of most classes. However, both of the Hunter subs are lack luster in PvE in general. This goes for Bladedancer especially. Edit-
grammar and spelling errors
Bladedancer is the most op super in the game
-
Edited by SmoggyPluto: 8/15/2015 2:46:40 PMOnly in pve. Scratch that. Invis
-
I dont know man, when I was doing Skolas I used BD the whole time with invis and trust me. You want that Super when there are mines. Plus, the invis perk on the arc blade lets get the jump on people because they cant see you on radar, very useful in ToO. BD is a very balanced subclass though, for it doesn't work much in PvE but I find it beast in Crucible, that's why I main Hunter.

I feel like the blade dancer is only weak in pve other than that all the supers are pretty equal.
-
Edited by Flash_Yang: 8/15/2015 1:39:35 PMI blade dance a warlock female awoken. Situation is the warlock did the bow down emote while I blade dance and hit the warlock. To my surprise the warlock nova bombed me and I died.

Edited by Must Have Gally: 8/15/2015 1:15:02 PMTwo characters.. Sub 2500 Grimore scrub... Never killed Crota or skolas...
shit tonne of a medal score though... Demi-scrub
Its all about timing. I also use the go invisible as much as i can. People see you as just an invis hunter, try to just shoot you and at that point you wreak havoc. P.s Blink Jump if you want to kill most of the time because everyone at this point saves their supers for us hunters<3
-
1 ReplyBlade dancers destroy in certain circumstances, if they can invis to a group of snipers they all disappear, razor edge a titan in bubble, clear out an area so it can be capped, or even get to a spawn so it's forcing the other team to spawn at the other side of map. The only super I think is underpowered is a titan bubble, it would be able to sustain at least one full super and armour of light should be significantly better, if someone can shotgun you in it once and you can die it's pretty much worthless.
-
BD is OP. Not by itself of course but linked with certain perks and gear it could be extremely OP. Especially with hungering blade, killing someone with blink strike or the super automatically regens health so you can kill people back to back and if you have mask of the third man it uses less super to kill so it could last awhile. Yet again I can kill them as easily as they can kill me, the true OP though is Titan smash xD it can take 1 golden gun shot and you kill the guy who tried to golden gun you.
-
Baby blades for days I main a titan
-
Most aspects of blade dancer are completely useless in PvE, their saving grace is invisibility but its barely needed or useful
-
i agree blade dancer is the weakest because it's the only one you can get shot gunned in the face before hitting anything. and it's dmg is slow and generates barely any orbs unless killing high value targets.

4 RepliesDefender melee vs bladedancer super? Defender wins, did it last night and sent a hunter flying off the map. It was beautiful
