Edited by BlitzWolf43: 8/12/2015 4:01:02 PMI've been here since beta and I think the year one gear is just being replaced. So there's no reason to be mad. Anyone who is mad should've know this game is always evolving when they started playing it.
-
The Year 1 Vets are the reason there is a year 2.
-
I'm still here!!! I'm ready for some new gear. I don't really care about dismantling old gear. This game is designed to be a grind. Nobody gets rich off of one spin at a slot machine!! I'll keep some gear for crucible like my vanquisher but otherwise at some point I will get rid of most of the old gear.
-
1 ReplyIt will still be very much useful! Just like now 331 weapons are damn powerful. 365 are even better. But does that make 331 useless?! Hell no. I did almost everything in HoW just fine with 331 weapons. Oh and remember TDB? We didn't get to upgrade old weapons. HoW was just a band-aid. Same thing in TDB, 300 weapons work just fine, however 331 was better. It's going to be the same in TTK.

3 RepliesBecause... We are the reason there is a year 2

1 ReplyYou're clueless. Plus attention whoring yourself incoherently for comments. So there you go. Take it deep.

Who gives a -blam!- about your opinion
-
You know year 1 of destiny isn't 2014 right? Year 1 is until this September, so technically we're all year ones.
this is coming from a. Beta/day one player
-
2 RepliesDude, its because many of us spent many hours of our life we are never gonna get back to get that gear and weapons and now they want to invalidate it? I call bs to that, and besides the new players with HoW got the easiest upgrade path possible, just by doing lvl 32 poe once a week for 4 weeks could get them to 34, no grinding involved
-
Edited by You Mirin Bra: 8/12/2015 3:56:27 PMWhy should year twos have it easier? Dumbass little kids want everything handed to em. People who played longer should have an advantage. Thats basic logic you retard. Again, shouldnt have rated this game Teen. This is why. If youre too lazy to go through what we did then thats not our problem its yours. This is why destiny has no skill gap, because of dumbasses like you who think this is cod.
-
I'm still staying, I've been with destiny since the beta and don't plan on stopping anytime soon ^^
-
You're wrong. Esthetic light made it easier. Variks made it easier. I'm glad they're dropping the old gear. It makes new content relevant. Before, you wouldn't see me skip a week of vog or ce, now I skip 1-2 weeks of end game content because I don't need to grind it.
-
It's funny because a Lagswitch can still be upgraded and brought to TTK
-
RIP your IQ.

1 Replyhold on, how does Etheric light screw over new players? yall came in late and had the exact the same level gear available to you as day one players.
-
Your argument is invalid. 365 gear take no time to get regardless of being year one or not. Brand new warlock. Only armor piece I had was the ram. 34 with 365 weapons in 4 days. The only players it may have penalized were people with no friends, or those who preferred to bitch on the forums as opposed to finding poe groups to get etheric light. I really dont understand how the HoW screwed or didnt screw any set of palyers, except for those that I mentioned. Alot of people are salty about the new dlc because they are set in the old ways. Best believe any real vets will still be here schooling the year two skrubs. And i'll still smash kids in the crucible with my vision or dang for years to comes, regardless of future updates.

10 RepliesEdited by Sherpa: 8/12/2015 2:56:50 PMHow did it make it easier for us? We all needed the etheric light to ascend the gear. All you had to do was buy gear from variks and ascend a vendor piece. 2 weeks per character In 2 weeks you could easily have all 3 at 34 because that's 2 armor pieces from variks and 2 eitheric light per character no matter when you started You have a 31 highest level. Clearly you're just whining because the 34 is too hard for you. (That and you can't even hit TDBs level cap) You understand nothing about why year ones complain. It's because every expansion has given mediocre guns that were nowhere near as good as what we already had. We're complaining because now we HAVE to leave the guns behind with no choice for guns that will most likely follow the pattern of getting worse with each expansion. Your prepared to get rid of your guns? Well I'd imagine so you barely have any raid weapons you only have VoC and found verdict neither maxed out. Of course you're prepared you have no experience with the weapons that are actually good. Just the mediocre HoW weapons. You started in TDB and never beat crota. You beat VoG once (which took you 2hrs 42mins). If they made guns WORTH IT we'd willingly drop our weapons. I am a hand cannon guy I want a hand cannon in each element for nightfall so if TTK offers an arc and void HC I'll gladly delete FB and WoC. Until then I'm going to be annoyed because they're basically limiting our arsenals by 50% in terms of elemental weapons

1 ReplyEdited by Hippo_Legacy: 8/12/2015 2:21:29 PMWhoa I've been playing since the alpha and I'm not going anywhere and I know a lot of day one guys that aren't leaving either. But let's get one thing straight, ascension for weapons and armor made it way more easy for new players to get leveled up than it was for vanilla or even TDB players. And this new system in TTK will be less of a grind, feel more rewarding, and actually make sense to the RPG community who can't understand the busted ass RNG system currently in place. It will be much easier for BOTH day/year one players and newcomers to level up and attain gear. Also not every day one player is a stuck up dick, or an elitist. In fact most of us aren't, everybody just assumes we are because of a loud minority.

5 RepliesI'm year one, day one and I absolutely support moving away from all year one Legendary weapons/armor. I will miss quite a few of my favorite pieces but I have zero interest in playing with the same load out 2+ years into Destiny. I'm ready to find new favorites and find what works best for me.
-
Bitter vets maybe. But many of them equate the early gameplay, which was broken, to how he game should stay.
-
Middle of summer. People have things they want to do. Vets will be back. We aren't leaving. We are taking a break because we already have the gjallerhorn. Get grinding little scrubs.
-
2 RepliesYou have ZERO clue, but your opinion is noted and filed under "Clueless Douche Monkeys"
-
2 RepliesYeah... this vet is staying right here and will be enjoying the look of his Sign of the Elders and Pathfinder Sign. ;)
-
This vet is staying put, ready for new guns and all. Not sure where you're getting this data from
-
4 RepliesI'm a Beta / Year One player and I'm staying for TTK because I don't really care that my "Old Gear" is being invalidated. My Supremacy will still be effectively in Crucible, and I'll always use it - and I'll always have my Mythoclast, Nechrochasm and other tokens to show my veteranship.

Edited by Executor Hideo: 8/12/2015 3:41:55 PMWe should be able to ascend gear because we have gear that we like that we as veterans have had and used that newbies will never be able to obtain. Im not talkin about raid gear either. Im talking about basic gear and faction weapons and stuff. No one will ever be able to get another Shadow Price, or another Vanquisher, but because they cant get it, Bungie says Im not allowed to use it? Im not going anywhere, but I have right to complain about that bullshit. I actually grinded alot to get what I have. Im looking forward to replacing guns in my loadout with New TTK ones, but I was hoping to take one of the few good Autos with me. (My Vanquishers kinda grown on me.)
