Sounds pretty cool right? Lol basically this is jus an idea I had for basically any weapon in destiny.
Have you ever had a weapon that you really like and you love to use no matter what you're playing? a go-to gun if you will.
Well have you ever been playing with a gun you really like and all of a sudden you start thinking "man how dope would it be if this gun had solar damage"?
Or
"Shit I wish this gun had arc damage instead of void damage"
Introduce elemental weapon cores. You can call it something else or whatever you want doesn't matter.
Essentially you can buy these cores from the gunsmith and apply that element burn to any weapon you choose and it lasts until reset or longer.
Each core will have a different price by weapon class. So primary elemental weapon cores would cost 10k glimmer.
Special weapon element cores would be 15k, and of course the monsters of destiny(heavy weapons) elemental cores for that would run a full 25k glimmer.
Imagine jus going up to the gun Smith and jus purchasing a solar element core for your fatebringer?!?! Yea I'd rock that shit.
In addition to this you could allow armor elemental cores to be applied to your guardian as well.
Imagine going in to crucible with a solar shield or a void shield and your opponent is using mostly arc? It would add more depth and increased tactics to the crucible and it would jus be super fun. It would make your loadout and your armor and your guns jus that more important in the crucible.
This could also be very helpful, useful and jus very fun in pve, this would add and give you more protection in the wild especially patrolling earth or the moon and one tiny single level 6 dreg -blam!-s you up because...well they can and Idk why.
It would also be useful for end game, if you know you're about to go fight a lot of hive or a lot of cabal, you can buy your element shields accordingly to what you plan on playing or what you plan on doing.
Having a arc shield going up against an ogre....yea that's the shit I'm talking about.
Would be pretty great. Could it somehow become op? Hell if I -blam!-ing know. But it would be awesome and if done properly it could make destiny jus that more interesting and intruiging.
Anyways leave thoughts and comments below, tell me what you think or if you have a better idea shoot it my way.

1 ReplyEdited by lynk: 8/11/2015 4:51:25 PMLet's talk reasonably. Currently, I have 3 Fatebringers, 1 for each character. Fatebringer is probably my favorite pve gun, besides the Solar Jewel in some situations. Now, if I can put solar burn on one of my Fatebringers, and Void on another, then I would never, ever, use a different gun in pve. Right now I say "cool, a void nightfall. I can pull out my WoC and kick ass". But if I could change my Fatebringers to void, I'd never use my WoC. For a solar, I'd never use my solar jewel. Currently, the only reason to do Lighthouse is to get burns on weapons that exsist on no other gun (solar on a hand cannon). If I could just put solar on any hand cannon, then I would no longer want to do other end game activities, and the game would get boring incredibly fast #TitanMasterRace
