3rd R2 Trigger is on its way out already..bought this controller not even 2 months ago! will be going back to Walmart to replace it with a new one... FOR FREE...the cycle never ends...lol...this gen sucks!
how many controllers/triggers have you gone through?
i never had the analog sticks wearing off, but i've replaced the r2 trigger twice on my first controller that came with the destiny bundle...but now its suffering from the pressure sensitive problem, can't even do burn outs in GTA V.. sigh
What problems do XBONE users have?

13 RepliesEdited by O_Town_Racer: 8/5/2015 3:11:34 PMGo here: http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-PlayStation-PS4-Controller-EveryOne-Buy-4/dp/B00OW0P09K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1438787008&sr=8-2&keywords=ds4+r2+trigger or just search on amazon.com for "DS4 R2 TRIGGER" You can buy 10 replacement R2 triggers for $5.38 and free shipping. I know because I bought it a while back. I've already replaced 4 or 5 R2 triggers on my main DS4 controller. There are videos on YouTube detailing the process. I can do it in about 5 min now. This is a defect in the controller design. The spring is on the inside post of the R2 button. After many hours of use, the spring scores the post, weakens it, and eventually it snaps off. A solution would be to make these buttons from metal rather than plastic - or maybe even a different plastic. But thus far there is no response from Sony and no redesigned "gen 2" controller. This is the best solution I've found as to send the DS4 back to Sony for replacement costs me $12 in shipping even if the replacement is free under warranty. Also, don't listen to the trolls who accuse you of abusing your controller. They just don't know that it has probably already happened to them. The controller still functions after that post breaks, but eventually R2 stops working properly - sticks or doesn't fire every time. That's when you know it's time to replace the button.

1 ReplyI have almost 2 years old controllers and the left thumb stick cover is getting worn off. I don't care if people say 2 years is a long time if they can't last long I can't say they're good. And the ps4 much like my X360 that I replaced with a PS3. They're -blam!-ing disc ejectors.

I broke 1 controller ever. Still have not patched the hole in my wall. TL/DR: Take better care of your stuff.

Edited by GANTZ: 8/10/2015 3:28:53 PMi wore out 4 controllers already - on each right trigger breaks and left analog rubber goes off, it cant be a coincidence if each broke the same way , my ps3 controllers lasted the whole ps3 life time , good strategy from sony use cheap shit materials and sell em for lot of cash then make you buy new ones every few mon ths...

Edited by aero198: 8/8/2015 3:23:47 AMI'll never understand how people use L2/R2 as their triggers for weapons. L1/R1 are quicker trigger pull and a more comfortable grip on a controller. There's also the ease to either having your middle fingers on the triggers or dropping your index finger to the lower triggers. My trigger buttons are fine on all my DS4 controllers, but hey, my preference huh?

So... I've never had any controller issues with any of my consoles ever. I guess some people just either treat their stuff like shit or they were unfortunate to get a lemon from the store.
-
On ps3, iv trashed the r1 once, the left analog once, and the ps home button twice, meanwhile, my xbox controller takes more abuse, but it holds up much better
-
For Xbox One, I don't like how the trigger buttons feel, I don't even know what to call the new start and back buttons, and it sucks that my headset won't connect to a wired controller. I'm pretty satisfied about the rest of the controller.

1 ReplyOr ur jist destroying your controllers. Never had a problem with any gen controller. I've only had one 360 controller RB mess up, and that's only cuz my nephew dropped it on a concrete floor. Otherwise all my other controllers work. And have never had a problem
-
The xbox controller sucks for anything that isnt a shooter, i play madden 15 and nhl 15 on it and it is extremely unnatural compared to ps4.

1 ReplyMy Problems with it: Subjective: Feels cheap Gimmick Sticks are short and uncomfortable Triggers are not even trigger ffs Light is a waste of battery Objective: Battery life is garbo Build quality is lacking
-
Never had a problem, but I also know not to get angry over a video game like a dumb ass.
-
3 RepliesNever had a problem with my PS4 controller or my Xbox One controller. Sometimes I think you people are eating the controllers or something.
-
I have my original controller and a new one I bought when the packaged one had wearing on the analog stick and the rubber was rubbing off.
-
1 Reply...yeah I have now idea how people break their controllers. I've had my controller for nearly a year & no problems. Only controllers I've ever had that broke were 3rd party GameCube ones.
-
Had to buy 3 controllers 1 free But my 3rd one has been 1 quarter of the way gone for a few months now hope it stays that way
-
I've had two controllers since October and they are both fine.

1 ReplyEdited by AnnaMeemss: 8/7/2015 4:05:28 AMSounds like bad luck. I'm still using my day one controller. The usb charging cord stopped working but the controller is still good.
-
I thought my R2 was the only one blown out, one of the "pegs" that holds in place fell off but it still works fine, kinda crappy it still broke anyways but still
-
I have still never broken a single controller for any console, aside from one 3rd party PoS for the gamecube. There are only 2 issues with the Xbox one controller. The bumpers can't be hit in the same way they can on the 360 controller, they were designed to be hit at an angle. It's a pain to get used to but not the end of the world. The only other issue I've had is that on my current controller, the left stick is currently pushed a bit forward so my characters tend to move forward slowly at times. I think I just have to clean it, though taking apart an Xbox one controller is kind of a pain compared to the 360 controllers.

I've got two controllers and one of them has a little creaky/squeaky touch pad. Sometimes it's there and sometimes it isn't. Other than that they've both been great.
-
Best controller yet. The Xbox was great for one thing only. Shooting games. Sucked in every single other game genre known to man. Ps4 controllers are best for everything else. Only things better are fight sticks for fighting games and mouse/keyboard for shooters.
-
1 ReplyXBONE and 360 controllers still work after hard usage over the years. Heck even my original xbox controllers still work perfectly.
-
Never had a problem
-
Have 2, spilt beer on one and it's working fine now. You do realise it's a plastic controller right? How hard do you mash the triggers lol
-
3 controllers at launch. No problems.
