my thoughts are that destiny's playstation specific content is wrong. i get the need to cater to your investors, but at what cost. you see i think its bad for business. when you reward one group of players simply because they own a playstation is the same as punishing the other group who owns an xbox. never mind that we still get it IN A YEAR. from a customer standpoint as one whom preordered the game with the season pass, i feel cheated. i paid for something only to find that i dont get all of what i paid for when i should. and as a customer i feel like bungie is saying "thank you for playing playstation and F**K YOU for playing xbox, you know cause we hate microsoft and all". when ideally is what bungie should have done was have console specific DLC for both consoles and in one year the combined content became available to ALL players. cause you see. it may be the investors that make the game. but its the customers that BUY the game. and when you insult half of your player base, those customers become much less likely to keep buying your future releases and DLC. maybe Bungie will actually GIVE A S**T and heed my advice in the future. cause as an insulted customer, im not feelin hot on the idea of buying the next game.

The problem I see with it is that even though it's Playstation specific, not everyone on Playstation has their exclusives, and they might only get them when the exclusives are on xbox as well. If it's an exclusive, it should have been guaranteed for Playstation users in some way, such as an exotic bounty.

As an XBOX user, I have no problem with this. Sony paid extra so that their user base will receive exclusive items. Microsoft didn't. If you want the extra stuff, buy a Sony system. It's that simple.
-
You're going to get mostly idiots from sony who don't care and will disagree with you
-
'Yawn' It was Xbox for the last generation, it's Sony this generation. Deal with it

Edited by Orobas Rex: 8/5/2015 9:20:05 PMWell if they are cutting off content for a year cuz I didn't buy a ps4 then why can't they give X1 and PS4 more vault space it pretty much the same thing to me
-
1 ReplyOff topic but at least its not what the NFL did to videogame football by giving EA exclusive rights to use their logos, player names, stadiums etc..... NFL2K football i miss you soooooo much
-
For Bungie, maybe. For Sony, absolutely not. Not only does Sony get free stuff, some Xbox players moved over to Ps4 because of the exclusives. That's what it really is about from a business standpoint, they are making people want a PS4 over Xbox One because you are rewarded with free stuff if you choose Playstation
-
1 ReplyIt's just business. I used to play FIFA on ps4, and it's annoying for us that Xbox had extra content in legends players. It works both ways for different games. For Destiny, it's better to play on PS4 as the game is the same but there is more content. That new ps4 specific strike looks awesome by the way...

Xbox does it all day.
-
It's simple PlayStation is the bigger selling worldwide console, they are appealing to the masses
-
1 ReplyConsole ease should stop, they are only consoles with very few difference
-
Shut up Meg. Seriously. This crap was already beaten to death last year. Why bring it up again? Nothing will change. Either get a PS or stop crying
-
easy cry baby. we are 11 months in. stop whining.
-
Take some business classes and you will understand.
-
Yes Sony is punishing you for not buying a PS.

A business' responsibility is to make money and be fair to it's employees, as long as there are no laws broken or the business is putting the safety of the public in danger then it is ethical. Furthermore, ethics is about humans as individuals, not a business, although the ceo of a business can be unethical, doesn't mean the whole company is, therefore ethics does not apply to business because it is about money, not us as people making moral or immoral decisions, and no, having exclusives does not make it immoral, I think the term you're looking for is unfair, not unethical.

17 RepliesExclusivity is a bítch. Most Playstation users see it as a positive thing because it confirms their buying decision; I bought the right console that's why we got the exclusive stuff. Playstation is superior, Bungie confirmed it. The point is, Xbox catches up on the important US market and deals are changing (look at Activisions CoD deal). It's possible to see Xbox exclusives with Destiny 2 in 2016. I wouldn't make any buying decisions based in third-party exclusivity because it can change really quickly. For the consumer, exclusivity is always bad.
-
Every game does it. Some games go strictly one console or the other, so this ain't that bad. Just look at tomb raider.
-
PSN goes down more so it's fair
-
Thats life son. I can tell you as a ps4 user, I don't feel that lucky.
-
2 RepliesTrust me, when you play Dying Mind on nightfall with void burn you will be begging for it to be a PS4 exclusive again :D
-
1 ReplyTo be honest having exclusive content for a while is pretty normal these days. Most of the time it doesn't last a whole year though... But doing it AGAIN in year 2? That really does feel like a stab in the back.
-
Save money, buy both. Problem solved. If my 11 yr old son can save up enough money to buy an Xbox1, you all can too.
-
Every single game has console exclusives
-
It's fine, as an Xbox One player I have heard under good authority that if I throw enough money at my screen, I will get said exclusive content :)

8 RepliesI guess it is ok for CoD to have Xbox exclusivity?
