Gameinformer has PROVEN all our time spent in year one grinding for weapons and rerolling them to be just right was TOTALLY WASTED TIME
ALL year one legendaries (including Fatebringer, Black Hammer) will be worthless when TTK drops as they will not be able to be ascended.
SO DONT WASTE YOUR TIME GRINDING UNTIL TTK DROPS!
Bungie really knows how to ruin a game.

This is normal for a game like this. It's a major expansion. World of warcraft does the same stuff. Complaining about it shows you know nothing.
-
im going to keep playing but thanks anyway :)
-
Don't care, more fun this way 😜

What you should say is that the guns aren't going to carry over into PvE, ToO or Iron Banner. Regular Crucible will still be fair ground for any and all year one weapons. It's time to move on from those guns in my opinion. One of the best parts of the game is getting a new gun that behaves differently. Upgrading it and watching its progression is fun, and then using it to wreck face is satisfying. Why stick with the same old guns? There's still more to experience.

But, but my weekly challenge modes....

2 RepliesI got a hopscotch yesterday, I'm not even gonna bother upgrading it.
-
It's sad to say goodbye to old guns but it will be good to go on hunts for new exotic and legendary gear. I wonder if there will be a new Gjallarhorn or if they'll balance out all the heavy weapons. I'll admit I'm going to really miss my Another NITC but so is life. All good things...

with that logic you should quit your job (if you have one) never make any money, buy anything, do anything, enjoy yourself, spend time with people because you and everyone you love will someday die and you waisted all your time doing things

1 ReplyEdited by blueshirtguy: 8/11/2015 12:57:49 AMI cant read Gameinformer article, but would like to know the following: 1. Would all the vendors at tower continue to sell HoW armor and weapon if I didn't buy TTK? 2. Do I still need to use the planetary materials for weapon and armor upgrade if I don't have TTK? 3. Does the patch coming out on the 9/September changes the core gaming mechanics? Tq.

>Bungie plans to leave old weapons behind to increase weapon variety and give players incentive to not use the same weapons 24/7 >Community complains >Bungie keeps Ascension throughout the entire franchise of Destiny? >Community would probably complain

1 ReplyGrind for exotics instead
-
1 ReplyStarted playing the witcher 3 yesterday. I'll be done by the time TTK launches.
-
3 Repliesruined!! Its called moving on to better gear Ma man u haven't played any MMO game !! :/ So sad
-
Except in crucible, wear attack value means nothing, and year one raids. We don't even know what the new attack level will be. How many people hung up the fatebringer or voc when tdb dropped and we couldn't get old gear to 331? willing to bet not many.

No mk? Mk
-
I still need gjally and a lot of exotics so shove your head in a hole like an ostrich until ttk but I'm still going to play
-
3 RepliesLmao... "Ruin"? It's called evolution. They're trying to keep the game fun, new, and engaging... Go back to COD
-
2 RepliesThe hype over hopscotch is for pvp. Post invalid

Edited by Sturm with no Drang: 8/10/2015 1:03:26 AMWell then, I guess it's too bad that I spent more time grinding my amusement meter on Patrols rather than grinding for weapon rolls. Oh, woe is me. What a shame of a waste of time and resources....
You can see that I love exaggerating things. People need to stop whining; you buy a video game for amusement, not for competition since that comes as a side-dish.
New fatebringer will be called bringer of fate.
-
2 RepliesI will continue grinding, Faction ships will last a long time.
-
4 RepliesHopscotch will still be a beast in regular Crucible where damage is normalized. Also, remember how that Mythoclast was frozen in time?!? Just goes to show you just never f*cking know...

Most RPG style games have you get rid of old gear for new gear, it's not a new thing, and it will continue for as long as people play any type of RPG style game. If it's wasted time for someone, perhaps they need to get out. I like the grind, personally, something to always aspire towards, something to complete, etc., etc., etc. I don't think I've wasted my time, just like when I play other RPG's, I do the long quests for the good gear that is only really useful for a few levels, then I do the next quest for the next gear, and so on and so forth. But the grind is worthless right now? Depends how you view it, to be honest. I'm still working on stuff, admittedly not as much because I have everything I want, and I'm just trying to finish exotics and grimoire. Then we get new stuff to do. Let me compare the grind to Pokemon, something many have played or at the very least know about: You grind those pokemon at the beginning to be decent leveled for the first one, two, maybe even three gyms (You grind your weapons and armor to be the best they can) but then after that, you start getting the more powerful Pokemon with the better moves and types. Slowly your team starts getting replaced (You now have better stuff so you replace your old gear). You hold onto that one special starter you've been with from day one though (The exotic(s)). You'll never throw it out because it will always be there for you, even when it's not the best for the situation because it's special to you and you've formed a bond with it. Did I just compare Destiny to Pokemon? Yes, I did. If it's okay there, it's okay in every other RPG-esque game, why isn't it okay here?

I feel like they are going to buff them after a bit...they want to attract newer players by not overwhelming them with so much to do? Also I heard their new item system doesn't work with the old weapons and gear? Not sure what that means, but that's I heard of dattodoesdestiny video. This is all speculation by the way.

Shut up you muppet and play for fun

I'm just capping my Grimoire. The grind ended shortly after PoE got boring as -blam!-.
