Why do people actual brag about having a 1.5 K/D?
I just don't understand the logic. Have you not seen good K/Ds?

4 RepliesThe reason for this being that the average players kd is so monstrusly shit that anything above a 1.4 is pretty damn good. Personaly im at 1.6 now and am pushing for that 2.0. But to put thus into scale a player with a 1.5 kd ranks about top 10% of all destiny players, which is pretty sad. To have a kd of 0.9 is disgusting, but sad to say average for this community.

1 ReplyYou misunderstand what k/d represents. It all depends on the people you play - if you had 12 of the best players in destiny in one match, guess what half of them are going to go negative. I don't know the maths behind it but I'd assume roughly half or more of the player base is 1.0 or negative. Anything above 1.0 means that on average, against the bad players and the good you tend to come out on top more often than not. Usually if you are better than others at something, people tend to brag. Having a 1.5 means you are consistently better so I see no reason they shouldn't brag. Doesn't mean there isn't someone better - everyone loses, but if it makes them feel good I don't have a problem. With 17 million+ players, if you are better than 9 million+ people (even higher with 1.5 K/D) at something why not brag. Note that I'm a very average player and could never brag.

This is a connection based game skill goes out the window when dealing with laggy games that change physics all the time.

1 ReplyFirstly I think it's pretty sad that you make a post so people will look at you KD and complement you. Secondly from all the previous games I saw you do all your crucible with clan members, this ain't a bad thing but to carry on like you are a great player when you have a group that plays regularly together mainly going against ransoms is dumb. I can go into crucible with 3 or 4 clan members and always sit above 3.0 KD but solo I usually only get 1.8-2.5 KD.

Most K/Ds are .5-1.2, so having a 1.5-2.0 your pretty good

If you want I'll brag about real-life accomplishments, however, I wouldn't want to come off as a pretentious asshole. Anyways, back on the subject of KDR, I find it quite interesting that mine has dropped ~0.20 in the last two months, (from 1.73 to 1.50), we can associate this to disinterest in the game, shotguns and other low-TTK weapons. I would also like to add, making snarky comments on forums to try and boost your ego makes me think that you're a sad little man/woman who needs video games to fill the void of accomplishment in his life. I'd like to keep gender free in my writings above, but your behaviour is most likely testosterone fuelled. Good day.
