Why do people actual brag about having a 1.5 K/D?
I just don't understand the logic. Have you not seen good K/Ds?

8 RepliesI must ask you OP, did you recently delete all your characters just to get a better overall k/d? Because those few kills you got doesn't nearly back up that medal score you got. Since you're at about 2kd now (which frankly isn't anything to brag about either) maybe we should assume you were at about 1.5 (or even lower?) before you decided to delete them and start over? And in this case this is the most hypocrite thread in a long time.

K/D in destiny is still RNG, of course pro players get a naturally higher K/D than regular players. But the discrepancy is "Unlucky matches" such as lag and getting spawn killed too often(Control and spawn movement game-types)

1.0 and above is good. High kd usually means camping, abuse of game mechanics, and manipulation of connection

Because with a 1.54 I´m in the top 7 percent of the Destiny players. That´s a pretty good reason for it to be considered a "good K/D"

Edited by dbeidbeijfjjjj: 8/8/2015 1:24:55 PMBecause we actually have and play characters aside from a hunter, to 34. Also, I don't use scrub cannon Thorn/TLW and/or Shotguns 24/7 in regular crucible for my 1.6 K/D. Edit: Also seems that you remade that Hunter. Five Thousand kills? Not too high.

Who is bragging? And while on the subject what is considered a good K/D on Control, for example? Destiny has no ranking syste for leaderboards in game so I don't actually know what my own is unless I log in here.

Hell I have around a 1 Kd....but I also don't camp,use shotguns,or just hang back....I cap and push...kd means no then to me ....and in trials my kd sux...guess I need to play more elimination

Because as long as you do the objective and get points kd doesn't matter. My 5000+ points a game is better than your 2.0 kd and 1000 points a game.

Because a 1.5 is good in this game. Trash in this game is negative/1.0. When you have a 2.0 and above that's when you can be considered highly skilled. 1.5 to 2.0 is skilled imo

I have a 1.5 overall KD. I have a 1.5 KD bc I have gotten progressively better at this game and that's the average. Just made a hunter, look at my recent clash/skirmish games. Got a relentless medal 6 out of my first 14 clash games with him. My hunter has close to 3.0 KD because he is new. I have better trials stats than you do. I would wreck you in crucible, that is why I can brag about my 1.5 KD

Because they feel proud of it, I guess? Everything is relative. What's good for one person may be bad for another. Hell, people brag about how many Gjallarhorns they have gotten... Even though it's 100% RNG (unless you Xurned one). TLDR - they happy with 1.5kd, it's good for them. Who gives a shit, there is always someone better/worse than you.

When I started (this is my first PvP multiplayer game), my [i]average[/i] was .5 easily. So, my goal is to be 1.0 or better. Period. I consider that a win. My overall KD on Control went from .75 to .82 during last weeks Iron Banner. Which is a [i][u]significant[/u][/i] increase considering the number of games played. I'm not gonna delete characters to wipe away bad KD. It was a learning experience. I'm still learning and improving. Even if I raise my average to 1.5, I'm not gonna [i]brag[/i] about it though. I just try to get better, each time, each map.
