I play crucible often as it is one of my favorite pass times in destiny. I have run into my fair share of campers, thorn users, shotgun lovers, and lag switchers. All of which in my opinion are some of the most irritating people in crucible. However, all of these people cannot compare to the amount of frustration I have when I seem to be the leader of a band of idiots.
This Iron Banner has been especially frusterating. My teammates are always in the wrong place at the wrong time and seem to be able to be killed by one person all at once due to the fact that they just stand at a zone looking at a pretty bird in the sky when an enemy with a super wipes them all out. They also cannot seem to understand the fact that they make better walls than windows when they decide to park themselves right in front of you as you are shooting someone.
One of the most irritating things about teammates, however, is the fact that they can push you into the line of fire. I can't put enough emphasis on the fact that you should be able to go through your teammates. I have been killed countless times by a teammate that pushes me into a bullet, uses me as a meat shield, or gets in my way when I am trying to move to cover and they just stand there as though asking me,"What is this 'cover' concept that you speak of?".
It is no surprise that at the end of the match, you look at your team scores and find that your teammates all seem to have k/d's that belong in the hall of shame. It is not to say that there aren't teammates that are actually good, but it seems that this Iron Banner especially is full of people with a sign on there back that asks the other team to kill them. I am tired of being the one that almost always carries the team.
Anyone else have this problem or anything to share?
Edit: I would also like to factor the amount of frustration I have when teammates refuse to capture zones even though we have none or are losing all. They do not seem to realize that zone control gives you more points per kill. If you aren't going to capture zones, then play clash or something. Don't play control where the while point is to capture and CONTROL zones.
Edit: I wrote this article a while ago, but I suppose it still holds truth to it as people are still liking this post after so much time. I would thank those people if I didn't believe that they are simply people like me who are fed up with sorry excuses for teammates. This is especially true when you are the only person on your team with a positive k/d. That means that regardless of how many points they contributed to your team, they likely contributed more to the other team by getting them kills.
I know that this is my own issue and my own opinion, however. I just don't like it when it happens multiple times in a row.

I'm sick of terrible teammates in skirmish that just basically commit suicide rushing the other team by themselves the entire game

Here's the deal. If you want to win, bring a team with at least 2 other members. If you go in solo, most likely you are going to lose. Its as simply as that.

I place first on my team EVERY SINGLE GAME. I have a few things to say about this also 1) LEARN TO PLAY OBJECTIVELY. Dude if your going to go into iron banner, then play to win, and capture points. How hard is that. Every Game my team gets wrecked because everyone is too busy trying to kill. 2) max your guns you noobs... don't pay IB if you don't have a maxed out weapon. I swear all these scrubs in iron banner aren't actually bad, they just don't have maxed weapons. How else can you explain being that bad... 3) i just don't enjoy it sometimes due to everyone's stupidity. Half the time i murder most of their team, capture B by myself only to have their entire team blow me into the next dimension only to find out 4 of my teammates are watching the other team take back B. It's just mind blowing. Competitive edge is lacking in these little tykes man.

That's usually not me. Usually.

3 RepliesEdited by Silly: 8/3/2015 2:14:51 AMI have +2 k/d with 20 kills In almost every iron banner game this week and let me tell you this, IB is a piece of shit due to lag/thorn.
-
When this happens I usually find its just a bad combination of playing styles, Sometimes you get a full team of more reserved players and others you get too many aggressive players, it's good to have a balance, but that's hard to do with matchmaking.

Edited by Jhop231: 8/3/2015 6:08:39 AMI went the whole event by myself and got to rank 5 on the third or fourth day, sure it ruined my new titan's kd but I got all the items. I had tons of matches where no one would PTFO but I just kept playing with whatever I was given and pushed through lol. I also made sure I completed every single challenge before they reset and kept it cool about losing.
-
I know if we're going to win or lose within the first minute of the game depending on where the lemmings go v where the wolves go.
-
1 ReplyThe sad part is the bad people get the loot and the guy with the 2 kd gets nothing or a strange coin

5 RepliesThrough useless teammates, I just got mark of the unbroken lol

Edited by echoblammo: 8/2/2015 11:51:07 AMHell yes! 4 battles in IB this morning I lead my Jolly band of Assholes about 2000 to 20000 me getting pretty much all the kills with a 1.51 KD my teammates just run around and die! No tactical thinking. And Plus the other team was like a whole clan of Lag switch Thorn-Felwinter noobs who've been to the Lighthouse twice in on day.
-
I was screaming at my TV this morning......people.....we need flags, 2 flags give more points per kill then no flags....also standing at A.....when we already have A, I'm talking to the 5 I was matched with last round, does no good.
-
I don't do IB anymore unless with a full squad... Now I get stuck with shitheads in trials from lfg that can't go above .7 KD when I am constantly at 2.0. It's worse when they die and stay silent.
-
It's as if Medusa payed them a visit...
-
I just need win one more game for rank 4 and I play alone because everyone on IB playes in teams and no one wants to invt me I try to search alone but the game puts me with team mates who dont care to cap a objective they insted run out to get kills as if they truely think theyre helping the losing situation were in. I HATE IB its full of retarded randoms and tryhard full teams -blam!- IB bungie its a fail.

6 RepliesEdited by YESUAR: 7/31/2015 11:39:38 PMi hate it too but sometimes i'm the useless teamate depends on who you're up against too using thorn and a shotgun is a no no ?

4 RepliesI also find it hilarious when a level 29 can one shot us with a shotgun. Yet we can have a max shotgun and it won't even kill another level 34 with one shot. (Even if you shoot it in their face) it's mind boggling how you can get killed with one shot on full health from a lower level. But at the end of the day I try to have fun and let it be.

I can totally attest to this myself, I always see guys that just don't care, get in and play start the game on the bottom, end it there too, its sad. I try to be at least half good at anything I do in destiny. check this out, some iron banner gameplay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZWtwcnzR9I. soon we'll all be thebest

Peach brotha man, preach.

this time around with IB, a major point i kept practicing was not bunching up with teammates in corridors or any area where splash/blast damage can hit u..u nailed it..i always try to give space to my team mate or crouch if i know he's ADS or about to..multiple times i died not because the enemy got the jump on me from across the map, but because my 'mate kept blocking me from evading that sniper.
-
I hate the guys that can't even break 1000 points or cap a point seems to have a few of those atm also guys that flip the spawns even though we've told them to not cap the final point and just hold the two, by all means apply pressure but don't push into the cap point.
-
I feel what you're saying, sometimes I'm like you and sometimes I'm like the teammates I play horrible. If you have a great pvp skill set and your teammates do not, it will make a huge difference when facing other competitors. I do much better when I'm by myself then opposed to a team of 3. However, when the clan gets together we are so in synch it doesn't matter how poorly some of us play, we tend to win more than we loose. That's usually because of communication. IB is not the same as it was before HOW came out.
-
I have to admit, and I hate to say this because I to was a noob once apon a time, but I do agree. There are so many YouTube vids out there to help you with basic PVP, and I have to say.....this IB I have been pushed into being killed several time. .....I can't remember this ever happening before or in past IB matches. Also, I don't know how many times I go to capture a flag...I have several other players going with me...when I encounter the enemy there is no one around and I get slaughtered ....aaaaaaaarrrggghhhh.
