An honest discussion about white racism.
If you can make an all female clan, an all black clan, an all Asian clan, an otaku only clan, a tradesmen only clan, a fathers only clan, a transgendered underwater basket weavers only clan, and those are considered acceptable, why is it suddenly discriminatory to have an all white males clan? I don't understand people's logic. This is actually proof that SOME (very heavy emphasis on some, I do realize that there is still legitimate racism out there) anti-racist ideals are honestly just anti-white. If a Japanese man is proud to be Japanese and decides, "You know what? I'm gonna start a Japanese only clan," (I use Japanese as an example, you could insert a lot of other races or cultures or hobbies or genders here) why is it suddenly "racist" to have a proud white man do the same? Can someone please explain this to me, I honestly don't understand. And please, feel free to point out any logical fallacies I may have. I make it a point to maintain a fairly level head when debating.
Edit: Just to clarify, I DO NOT actually want to join an all white clan. I don't care about that. I'm posting this in response to someone making a post about starting an all white clan and it being removed for violation of conduct. I do not believe it to be fair considering the other clans that exist that are the exact same thing but a different race or gender or whatever have you.
Edit. Again, I personally do not want to be part of an all white clan, I do not like the idea of ANY clan of ANY ethnicity being that exclusive. I do however understand that some people are more comfortable being around others that are the same as they are (in any manner, be it hobbies, religion, race, ethnicity,etc.) and I feel like every race should at least have the option to do so without being socially shamed.

Same concept. White people are, stereotypically, the most racist folk, due to our past, so anything relating to white people excluding anyone else is declared racist. It's the world we live in. Are we the most racist? No idea. Is it right that we're considered so? Depends on previous question. Should that thread have been taken down? Probably not, unless it actually was racist. Oh, but also; Please edit your post and change the hashtag from #Gaming to #Offtopic, as your post does not relate to a video game. For future reference, the Gaming subforum is for topics related to games other than Destiny. Threads that do not relate to Destiny, Bungie, its community, or other video games belong in the Offtopic subforum.

4 RepliesExcuse me, white guy here. I was just wondering when I get my white privilege card? My parents didn't have much while I was growing up and I went to a pretty bad school. I had to work really hard to get myself through school and into a decent state college after community college. I since then have obtained my masters degree and have been working in my field for a little while. I was wondering when my white privilege card was coming so i didn't have to work so hard for everything I have anymore!

Because as a majority, most of the clans will already be mostly white males. On an English speaking online server white males make a vast majority. As a society it is looked down upon if the majority excludes a minority. Which is why it is not socially acceptable. TL;DR Not Socially Acceptable For Majorities to Exclude Minorities

8 RepliesEdited by UnderPressureM16: 8/3/2015 12:43:41 AMI see where you're coming from with this but both sides need to be understood as this is a pretty delicate topic at hand, for starters, many whites are in the same situation (whether financially, socially, etc) as other so called "minorities" in the US so technically it really isnt fair to label whites as "the bad race" (plenty of white people are very kind and have bettered the world we live in), however in the end its more than likely that, even if they might be from the same financial or social background as a person of color, a white person will be more regarded than a person of color. Now this might not always be the case, I do realize that, but for long periods of time (from the 1850s to the 1960s) there was WHITE ONLY this and WHITE ONLY that around America. Its no so much that people are upset at whites for being white, its more like they're trying to emulate or possibly even retaliate. Segregation is no longer a prevalent issue in the US (though racism certainly is) however there is still needless propaganda and banter from both sides which elongates this apparent "racial war" thats happening right now in the States. So while I recognize its unfair for anyone to tell a white person that creating a white clan is wrong and absurd, you have to realize that these people who are saying this have more than likely been discriminated against as well. [b]Either way I really believe theres no good reason for there to be infighting on an MMO like this, there's no point, its just a game in the end and you have to take all of this "select grouping" with a grain of salt[/b] [spoiler]just an off topic thing, I live in Florida, theres A LOT of rednecks around here that are all about white supremacy, I think if you saw these KIDS (not just adults) youd realize why people are upset about "all white groups" and such, those are really the only white people I truly despise lol (and Im white myself)[/spoiler]
