Lol @ everyone who says "durr I have like 30 etheric lights durr"...... And?
Iron banner gear should be able to compete in the iron banner without spending etheric light on it. Plain and simple.
If you don't have the dlc, you don't have much etheric light. This is how Bungie excludes those who don't buy their dlc. It's not very cool.
I remember when iron banner gear actually was at the light cap, and was the only way to 32 without a dlc.
That's why I don't bother with this iron banner. The gear is just a lazy ass reskin of what the crucible and vanguard vendors are selling that has to be ascended. Laziest kick in the nuts ever. They have re skinned armor in TTK too which is the vanguard and crucible armor re skinned with faction emblems on them. Lazy as shit once again. FWC could have some ammo, grenades or weapons strapped to the armor, DO could be more tattered looking with some cloth attached to it and new monarchy could be more clean with more clean edges and royal looking elements, chain mail ect. Class items should follow this idea too. I'm getting sick of their lazy approach to adding additional content And their lazy approach to making us put in more hours by forcing us to grind for something to make our gear light level 42.
I believe the reasoning is because you can obtain two etheric light anyway. With that said, it's incredibly dumb considering you can obtain two weapons and two pieces of gear...and only two etheric light.
Meant to make you grind out and spend extra time in game.
