Why is handcannon the only primary bounty?
It's like bungie knows thorn is terribly OP, but then rubs it in our faces. How about a pulse rifle bounty?

Edit: OH the op and title are just incredibly misleading. You should really be more clear. The fact that you only talk about thorn and don't even specify you mean the crucible bounty just makes for poor communication. They've done this before. Back when the suros regime was king, the bounty for Iron Banner was to get 10 headshot kills with an auto rifle. It's like they wanted to be SURE everyone used the thing. Then they used its high usage to justify nerfing it. WELL PLAYED BUNGIE

Because they want a reason to nerf them. They're nerfing HCs, especially the Exotics, because they were "overused", and the HC bounty fed those numbers. Remember when Bungie nerfed ARs? They said they were overused, meanwhile the AR weapon bounty (the only weapon archtype bounty at the time) occurred during IB, and this bounty fed the numbers. They are probably going to do the same bullshit with Pulses and Scouts eventually.

It's because it's not a new bounty. It was only changed from the dead mans hand medals because no one bothered to do it. There is no special medal for auto, pulse or scouts. I do agree though there should be more variety with the bounties.

I was about to write "how about bad juju?". Glad I didn't now XD I think BUNGIE are concious that hand cannons are overpowered. However pcme the next update the new op weapon will be hard light, it is already good :0

The Vex counts as fusion rifle kills, but I get your point, they should give us bounties for all gun types.

2 RepliesI assume you mean crucible bounties. Those bounties changed with a recent patch, at first they were "Get x medals for......" So you had to get buckshot bruiser/master blaster/marksman medals to get those bounties done. The handcannon is the only primary with such a killstreak medal, called "Deadman's hand" Bungie recognized that those bounties were too time-consuming/difficult in regards to the rep/XP you got for them and changed them to kill 15 people with xxx

Handcannons are the only primary bounty because they were initially intended to be special weapons to fit inbetween the range gaps of snipers and fusion rifles. Watch the pre release vidocs and you will see the player is wielding a scout rifle and a hand cannon. I mean, who would really walk into a warzone with just a pistol? Thats why you don't see any bounties for any other primary weapon. Because handcannons aren't primary weapons.

It's because it used to be bounty for earning like 3 dead man's hand medals. There is also electrocutioner and buckshot bruiser medals. I'm guessing they couldn't think of any clever names for the other weapon archetypes, so they never got bounties or medals. They should definitely be added.

I think it would be better if Bungie do a kill x guardians with a primary, x guardians with secoundary, and so on because this maybe give the game more freedom to play like the players want!
