My Opinion on Girl Gamers, Squeakers, and Etc.
I've seen several posts about this. Thought I'd give my view.
So apparently, girls who play Destiny get harassed, hit on, told to get back in the kitchen etc. by guys. Younger players get kicked because of their voices. Other people receive other forms of unfair treatment
This is a problem. People shouldn't get treated differently based on factors they can't control. Including race, age, gender, sexuality, or anything else they're [i]born with.[/i] None of this has any direct effect on your skill or game experience.
As long as you have some skill at the game (you're aware Valus Trau'ug has a shield) and a tolerable personality, you're fine by me. You're probably better than me at the game anyway.

Hmm I've never had any problem with the fireteams I join up with being a girl. Haven't encountered any dicks thankfully..

No problems with most anyone that is willing to be a team player. Just have a sense of humor, and a sense of "get 'er done." If you are a "squeaker" that's fine as long as you don't ramble constantly and scream in the mic. Don't care about race or religion or ethnicity or current blood alcohol content. I play frequently with an atheist and another fellow that's from some middle east country (won't say) ... we're all Guardians during our play time.

I don't play with squeakers I just can't stand their voices and how they always want to be the ones to take charge or tell you how good they / their gear is. I've only had a few games with females. But from my experience some one in the fire team try's to impress them thru game play or talking up how good they are or how amazing what they just did was etc. In this instance I'll leave the group my self if I feel it's taking away from our ability to perform as a team.

if a squeaker say he is good with the relic , comes out of the portal, lands on middle platform, shoots atheon with the relic blast and runs away with the relic, squeaker get booted. it al depends on how stupid they are. and really yeah the decibel level of there speaking voice.

3 RepliesThe fact of the matter is that video games are a male dominated medium. Throw in the anonymity and the immaturity can reach some pretty staggering levels. If you're a girl gamer, just be aware of what you're getting in to. Yeah there's gonna be some jokes and what not, and some pervs but take it with a grain of salt because most of the immature shits that think they are funny probably haven't even touched a girl.
