Guys, c'mon...I've dug through some players profiles, and I see their Control stats and they have very little captures, only kills.
Isn't that what Clash and/or Rumble are for?
I know, I know, the hate may possibly ensue, but hear me out; if I see a player standing near a zone that has been captured by the other team, and they're still just standing there camping, that's not playing the objective.
I respect great players, but I don't like seeing people just running around getting kills when that's not the primary purpose of that particular game.
Edit: Thanks for all the comments. It's nice to see different people's strategies.

I try to have B flag capped early on, whether it be by me, or by someone I'm defending from the team coming from their spawn. After that it comes down to map control. Never let them cap B? Never have to myself.

1 ReplyTo be honest...I play Control because I like that everyone gathers to one spot multiple times a match and I know where it is so I can super them all at once lmao.
-
1 ReplyI usually get a few captures but for the most part I am rushing every player I find.
-
I don't cap sometimes cause I see like 3 people on a flag I go up ahead too screw with the enemy
-
I've captured 726 zones and have a 1.05 k/d in this game mode. I try and help capture every game I play, but one player can only do so much. It bothers me as well that most people are just focused on kill rather than controlling two zones.
-
People like killing on control because you know where targets are running to. I'm thinking these people don't score so well in skirmish and rumble. ;)
-
I'm busy killing the enemy team, giving you time to capture it.
-
2 RepliesOhhhhhh, that's how you get the bounty
-
7 RepliesI capture Zone A on Shores of Time every chance I get. No one is usually around so it's easy points for our team!
-
It's easier for some players to rack up kills on Control because its easier to predict where the enemies will be at versus Clash where you have to have more situational awareness to know where everyone's at and where they're spawning from.
-
I've always been a defensive player. Cap a zone and DEFEND IT! When I get bored (usually if we're winning OR getting our ass handed to us) I go hunting.
-
People only do this to buff their K/D. When I play Control I usually end up with more caps than anyone on my team. That's why I really don't like Control as much as Clash. It has too many campers waiting in choke-points. In Clash at least people start to catch on to where the enemy players are camping and bum rush them. In Control people are too focused on capturing points to pay attention to where the campers are hiding.

Question is how do you win games? I am getting better at crucible but now frequently score high score which helps the team win. Bungie needs to give more points to capture zones to change behavior.

3 RepliesEdited by bilbo t baginzz: 7/21/2015 10:32:49 PMTheres no need to capture when the other team cant take them off you is there. Also theres nothing worse then having a team who thinks capturing A,B and C is a good idea.. never capture 3 bases. Ive played 935 games with only 2406 zones captured

If this were any other FPS clash the TDM equivelant would be the most popular but destiny is weird in that what is essentially DOM is the most popular game mode the 2 biggest reasons for this imo are: Beta only had control available IB is control only
-
I stopped capping zones. If I'm playing IB then that's my main focus but regular crucible I might cap but it's not a priority for me.
-
Most can get 3+ kills with one super because of capturing zones. Fist of panic in there or nova bomb into the capture zone.
-
3 RepliesControl isn't domination. You can literally win without capping a single flag.
-
Happens a lot in salvage too, team mate stays back whilst we're trying to get the relic or sabotage it.

1 ReplyEdited by booooones: 7/21/2015 9:43:52 PMMeh. The way I look at it is if you have a good KD 1.5+ do whatever you want as your gaining more points than losing them. I got lucky on a team one time where we didn't capture any zones and three of the guys in my team had like a 3.0+ KD and we won by a few thousand. If they're not killing u it doesn't matter how many zones they have.
-
I don't mind people who don't cap but what pisses me off is when people cap and don't get kills. Kills are what win you games.
-
You need to set a 50 foot radius around the capture points to not have your team die I play that roll I push them in there spwn so you guys can capture don't think for one second either roll is more important
-
Lol it's just like drop zone in MW3
-
Yea but when you have a team that trying to keep you off their flag then... This post is invalid.
-
5 RepliesReal simple math, 3x0=0. Even if the other team has all 3 zones, if you don't die they don't score points. You can control all zones and lose if your teams k/d is low enough and you can control no zones and win if your teams k/d is high enough.

Honestly I don't capture many zones but I'll br rammed if I give up the one I'm watching over. Yep, I usually float in between the two points my team has hopefully captured.
