So the one shot headshot kill happened so rare, why nerf it? Afterall that is part of the exotic!
Once, I was in rumble on shores of time. I joined the match late, behind by 700 pts. Kills started racking up and b4 I knew it, I was in the lead on a relentless... The other guardians started swarming like Hawks upon the smell of blood! as I stand weak, down to sliver of health! I aim down the sights of Hawkmoon pinned against a wall, and see a warlock about to pull the trigger!! Booooommm!!!! His body drops as he releases one last dying gasp and a sensation erupts in my pants! I went on to end the game with 10 more kills and win in 4 minutes.
So most players think its dumb!

3 RepliesIt doesn't matter, it isn't something you relied on ever happening, people who use Hawkmoon use it for its solid base stats and scout rifle range.

Edited by UncleGrabbby: 7/21/2015 7:35:15 PMYou could really go either way on this, justifying the nerf as really not changing anything since the odds of it happening were so low (Planet Destiny said it was about 1/2000 or .05%). It was really to just get kids to stop crying about "being one shot" by hawkmoon when in reality they just suck. Sad to see it go, but it wasn't the reason anyone used the gun anyways.
-
13 RepliesIt gets 3 litc per mag. That's what is so exotic about it.
-
1 ReplyJust the possibility of a one shot kill was ridiculous. It can still two shot kill, which is ridiculous, but acceptable due to the randomness. Other than that, and a slight range reduction, it'll still be the same gun everyone knows and loves.
-
5 RepliesThey really aren't doing anything to the hawkmoon other than the range nerf. The magazine size drops, but they are adding that back with the 2 added rounds, so it will essentially be the same gun. I'm more worried about the magazine nerf on all hand cannons, that could put a properly rolled ill will at 3 rounds, making it a 2 shot no matter what. Of course you would then have to reload every kill you get.... Never mind, not so worried.

Haha hawkmoon is probably the least affected by the patch out of all the weapons and ur complaining about it. It will be basically unchanged compared to the other guns
-
If it's so rare then why are you complaining about it?
-
7 RepliesFixing a glitch =/= nerfing it. They weren't designed to stack. IMO, holding aces shouldn't stack either. The perk very clearly says that two additional bullets (plural) do additional damage. It doesn't say two additional bullets worth of damage will be applied to one bullet. I suppose you think that fixing the hip-fire while ADS glitch on TLW is a nerf as well.
-
It's sort of a buff... It can still two hit but it procs less and more ammo in the clip
-
4 RepliesI don't agree with it Those perks were what made it worth exotic slot If Hawkmoon can't 1 shot someone what will a camping pain in ass sniper? Might as well use something else like Red Hand IV and use something else in exotic slot thanks a lot Bungivision you ruined something else I liked
-
1 ReplyNo need for hawkmoon it's one of the rarest in the game no nerfs

1 ReplyXbox user here: seems like it would be such a rare occurrence I didn't understand the nerf.
-
I think bungie got sick of all the bitching so they just dropped a super nerf bomb on everything. After the next update, people will then begin to complain about melee, the ability of the enemy to move their heads in a player's directions, and even the ability to walk/run. Eventually, they will just turn off everything and we can watch the game play for us, sans weapons that kill other players.
-
Ehhh since it's a rare thing, no one is really affected by it, so not really a dumb change.
-
By far my favorite hand cannon for pvp. It's hilarious when they stack and get a one shot kill. Doesn't matter if it's nerfed....like thorn, it'll still be a valued primary in crucible.

Somewhat

Being the owner of 5 hawkmoons I agree with this post
-
Nerf it!
-
1 ReplyI think it's kind of stupid too, I had hawkmoon for a long time now and I never got a one shot headshot with it
-
4 RepliesIsn't it getting an extra lucky round tho? It's the only exotic that still eludes me so I don't know if it has 2 or 3 atm
-
I think several of the gun nerfs are unnecessary and stupid, including Hawkmoon. I have a Hawkmoon but rarely ever use it because I favor other primary weapons for both PvP and PVE.

1 ReplyHawkmooner here, and agree with the nerf... Its a rare event enough that I won't miss it when it's gone

1 ReplyI would but i have never used it. Xbox mate. Just be happy you got to use it before the nerf. We wait a year and get a downgraded version. :( oh well.
