Should I buy an Xbone for Halo 5?
So seriously no bias, no bull(although I fully expect bull) should I buy one for Halo 5?
I love the halo series to death but I decided on getting a ps4 instead for Infamous and Uncharted. Should I buy the Xbox or save the money and just watch a playthough?

1 ReplyI don't think Halo 5 is going to be an outstanding game. So you may want to wait if that's the only game you want. Now if you want an Xbox One because of Halo 5 in addition to other exclusives and third party titles then sure. Just don't be stupid and sell your PS4 and library because you have this feeling to play Halo 5 at the moment.

I'm right there with you. I want ti play halo 5 cause I've been a fan ever since the first of halo on Xbox. Recently switched to ps4 mainly cause it was cheaper that the one when I got it. Can't think of any other exclusive games to get for it though and can't justify a major console purchase for one game. Q

I might consider that so I can curb my Destiny addiction on PS4. Another thing that XB1 has that might swing me over is the Rare compilation. I remember Banjo Kazooie and Perfect Dark on the N64 growing up

For just one game, I don't think it's worth it, I'm sure it's a great console,(I'm playstation) and if you get it you should get multiple games with it. If you only plan on getting it for just that game I wouldn't recommend spending that kind of money.

I literally bought the original Xbox to play Halo 2 with my friend, which I had no knowledge of Halo CE before it. Not the smartest thing to do, but I don't regret it now. I would wait for review if I were being cautious about my money. But I already pre-ordered the limited edition ($100 version). But if you're a fan of the Halo books, they are bringing Blue Team (Fred, Kelly, and Linda I think) into Halo 5 for the first time in the Halo games iirc. They're with Chief for his parts of the campaign. So I guess it makes the Halo 5 campaign like Reach in a way where you're with a squad. But unlike Reach, you can give them orders and they can help revive you if you go down, and vice versa. Honestly can't tell if it'll be a good or bad thing for the campaign yet. And from the MP beta, some things took some getting used to, but at least it was fresh. Wish I could go into more detail about that, but I have to head back to work.

You don't really need to buy one but I would, the only reason I commit to xbox is halo, you can do testing and get to keep the console

I wouldn't get a console specifically for one game, at least not right away. If your going to do that, wait until Halo 5 had been reviewed. It is generally a good idea to get a console that you own multiple titles for. If you only get Halo 5 and you get bored of it, you'll have wasted 300-500 dollars.

I love halo, it's the reason I purchased my xbox one over the ps4. I also love my xbox one. Best 350 dollars I've ever spent. However, I waited before buying it until I knew off at least 5 games that would make the purchase worthwhile. I'm not going to buy a ps4 unless I know of 5 games that are worth buying on ps4 over the xbox one. (Destiny is one, but one isn't enough for me) If I were you, I'd hold off until halo 5 is bundled out you see multiple games that aren't nearly as good on ps4 as they are on Xbox One. I've spent $100 on halo 5, but I world barely dream of spending 350 on any game. Never would I put down 410 just to play one game, which is what you're doing if you only have Halo 5 for Xbox One, and even if you buy multi platform games, if they're just as good on ps4, it does nothing to justify the purchase of Xbox one

1 ReplyThat's practically the reason I bought an xbox one awhile back. Ive always been a huge Halo/Forza/gears fan so there really wasn't much debating. But whether or not one game is worth buying an entirely new system... I'm not so sure. Halos great and all but if that's your only reason, id say save your money. They'll probably make a Halo 5 bundle though. If you enjoy these other exclusives then it might be more reasonable. But it all really comes down to your opinion and your opinion only. Only you know if it's worth it.

2 RepliesI don't know if you should buy any system for just one game. If you are a Halo fan if you do get Xbox One get MCC as well as Halo 5. I played the Halo 5 MP beta and it's a lot of fun, new mechanics aside it's more similar to Halo 3 MP in the respect of the competitive nature of the game, trueskill ranking and W/L ratio are back. It's up to you but as I have an Xbox One I will be getting Halo 5 as a fan of the games and universe.

If there are other exclusives you like and you have enough time On your hands to play all your ps4 games with time left over...then sure. Also, bear in mind closer Xbox /PC integration. Gears has already gone PC, might not be too long before halo does.

6 RepliesImo Halo 5 is going to be epic. The campaign seem like it might be a bit on the short side, it'll definitely be a great one. They said there are a ton of easter eggs and secret dialogs, etc. that if you take your time in the campaign you'll discover a lot of things that you wouldn't of found rushing through it. Even so, the campaign looks like it has a solid story. The arena really feels like how arena is supposed to be and they really nailed that part. Warzone feels fresh and looks like a game mode I'll be putting a ton of hours into. The game looks like a 9/10 right now.

I don't think I personally would able to justify purchasing a console for only one game (especially before it's released). But if the reviews come out and Halo 5 is a masterpiece then It'd help justify it.
