Did Ice Breaker Deserve the Nerf?
Explain your answer, I'd say no because it fulfilled a certain niche that an exotic should do.

3 RepliesNot applying to all, but a lot of people just use icebreaker for oracles. They just won't be able to do that anymore. The nerf doesn't really affect anything else, except for the amount of enemies you'll be able to kill in an amount of time.

1 ReplyNo. It encourages longer periods of camping, if anything. If it's ultimately a "hidden" way to stop people from camping up top in VoG during Oracles, then it's practically a year too late, and even more pointless. I just don't get a couple of "adjustments" these weapons are getting, but Bungie gonna be Bungie.

No. It's role is covering fire for your team from a distance. I snipe the spider tank from the roof while my team hits it close range. It divides the tank's attention and let's my teammates get close and wreck it's silly ass untouched. Screw Bungie for eating my baby

I hardly ever use my icebreaker, but others love it and use it all the time. I giess bungie didnt like them staying back and having infinite ammo killing adds. Even still, Ice Breaker didnt need a nerf. In my opinion, the respawn on ammo is long enough already.

2 RepliesIce Breaker was completely fine as it was. No need to nerf. Black Hammer either needed to become an exotic and stay as it is now, or get the new nerf and stay legendary.

What's gay about it is that it's because of people using it in Crucible, even though it was meant for/mostly used in PvE.

1 ReplyI think they went a poor route making it longer, they should of changed it to act like the invective where it recharges a magazine in a set amount of time all at once, saying that they should also allow it to be able to pick up ammo or use a synth to refill the ammo. That would hopefully get people to move for ammo to keep a high damage output.

Its very rare i used it before the nerf its going to be collecting dust after the patch nerd. Surplus on a sniper such as a longbow or ldr is better anyways plus it frees up the exotic slot

6 RepliesI didn't see the Icebreaker nerf coming. I was already surprised to hear that they were nerfing the Gjally, but after reading about both of the changes, I'd say this one holds far more impact. I'm agitated by nerfing the Icebreaker because I see right though them for why they did it: to combat solo/2 man weeklies. Bungie's ultimate goal is to make this game as solo-unfriendly as possible, so that you're pretty much FORCED to rely on playing with other people to complete activities. That's okay for the Weekly Challenge, since it currently has matchmaking, but when it comes to the Nightfall, it just ruins the opportunity for a lot of players to do it. I don't often have friends to play Destiny with anymore, so I usually only complete the Nightfall when it's something I can solo. I wouldn't give as much of a crap about this if they would just enable matchmaking for the Nightfall, but matchmaking is clearly not in Bungie's interests. So it's just going to lead to me playing far less Destiny.

1 ReplyIce breaker is the only exotic I do bosses on because it helped me with Atheon it helped in crota it also helped with skolas. The recharge rate was already pretty bad now their just destroying it which is BS now I can't do as good with an ice breaker.

Icebreaker nerf will only hurt the people who are sitting back camping waiting for their bullets to regen. Every normal player switches back to their primary starts gunning and wont even notice the extra time because he is busy fighting.

5 RepliesI never used ice breaker because of the horrible recharge rate. I'm assuming this nerf is actually because you can switch to ice breaker, let it charge, then switch back to your weapon of choice and have half a full thing of ammo.
