While Iwata was a great programmer, and had some amazing successes, let's not forget that he gave the OK for the Wii U and also removed their marketing budget. The whole fiasco came very close to bankrupting Nintendo...
So, let's see where Nintendo goes now. With a new President comes new vision. Is that vision "forward-thinking"? Or will it stay mired in the rut of "Gamers don't really care about power in a console..."
Ditch the gimmicks, get some processing power under the hood, keep the insanely high quality of Nintendo games, branch back out to woo third-party developers again. This should be on every wall in the building at Nintendo...
Hopefully they will look to use their IP's F-Zero and Metroid again... They do need some more mature games. The only few they have coming are Devils Third and Fatal Frame.
