HoW turned out to be an epic failure.
Seriously, TDB had the Crota raid and even though it isn't the best raid at least people played it and it had good rewards.
Everyone was so hyped for HoW but now that we've lived with it for awhile it turns out to be inferior to previous activities we've had.
Some people enjoy ToO but for the majority of people HoW hasn't brought anything new they enjoy playing on a regular basis.
With this recognition I am worried about TTK. Bungie hyped HoW so much and it sucks. Not sure we should have any more confidence in future DLC releases.

I have used this expansion to finally lvl the 2 other classes.

I'm not saying HOW is great but it's defiantly better than TDB

1 ReplyCrota's End has proven to be the worst raid in the history of Destiny!
Because there are only two raids, and one has to be better than the other. So I'm joking here, but speaking honestly.
HoW's story brought the following lore into the actual game: the Nine, the Battle of Twilight Gap, the Queen, the Crows, the Fallen houses' relation to the Traveler, the Fallen "collapse." This is a big win for storytelling as far as I'm concerned. It in NO way makes up for the overall lack of story, but it is moving in the right direction. PoE is fun for me and my friends because we are terrible at PvP. This means PoE is the only way we get etheric light, which prolongs our leveling process and gives reason to the grind. Petra's bounties did two positive things. One, updating weekly is better than the way Eris's bounties update daily because it prolongs replay value because it takes longer to level up with her. Her bounties also populated the patrols. Patrols were my favorite activity back when we could exchange materials for marks/rep because I'd do chest runs with strangers and we'd go for hours. That has now returned because people hang out while waiting for the wolves to prowl and everyone ends up working together on that and public events. Populating the servers had brought the game back to life for me.
-
1 ReplyAnd people thought PoE would be 10x better than raids lloookolloooooooollolololll
-
1 ReplyTaking the 6 man activities out ruined it for me. This 3 man shit is ruining the game.
-
1 ReplyPoe got tedious for me. I don't even run it fully every week anymore. Trials has been a godsend though. I love that game type.
-
How would have been as good as tdb if all the max level gear and upgrade material weren't sold or guaranteed to drop. It removed the grind associated with raids. If etheric light and gear only dropped from killing the boss on 34 and 35 Poe, nightfall (etheric only), and from gold tier package/light house (again only a random chance of a drop) just like the raids, people would still be playing it. Also, The level cap should've been 36-40. The thing with taken king is the unconfirmed level cap is 50 and it looks like we are going to have to grind exp to get to a certain point and then have gear to get us to 50 which is promising to me.

Edited by SweetZombieJesus: 7/13/2015 11:29:51 AMThe only thing going for those who happen to be bored of HoW, is the fact that TTK is going to either A) meet or exceed expectations or B) Kill the game and Bungie. After the original PR nightmare with this game + TDB issues + HoW issues, there's no way Bungie can release a larger expansion without some massive improvements and not get absolutely trashed and lose sales. Basically those unhappy will get a great expansion or the pleasure of watching Bungie burn. I personally don't care, I'm a repetitive gamer, always have been.

2 RepliesEdited by balazra: 7/13/2015 1:46:34 AMDestiny took me 600 hr to "complete" "burn out" "get tired of" TDB took 80 hr to "complete" "burn out" get tired of" HoW took 55hr to "complete" "burn out" "get tired of" I either have every exotic or have the bounty to hand in but I'm not due to vault space restrictions. I have the invective and thorn bounty complete on each char but I'm not handing them in as I have space restrictions. I have a elder cypher complete for each queens weapons but again no vault space so they can wait. I've not bothered completing Scrtal'ass yet apart from wanting a solar hand cannon to drop I have no desire for any other weapon or item that drops from him. The above are play times I have more in game time but most of it was group making etc... Not me actually playing the game. I've played enough pvp to get the bounty a done and know I would rather play a different game for pvp content. How long will tTK take? I'll most likely never find out. I did really enjoy the game... Cost total- Aus$100 Time played - 700hr 100\700=0.143 This game has cost me $0.14 per hour now that's cheap entertainment. Say I include the cost of the TV, console, 6 months electric bill, it still only comes to... $1.70 an hour. Tell me this game was over priced. Tell me it wasn't worth it. I don't feel cheated I just feel the game at this point has run its course and probably will not be worth playing beyond this point. Bungie may surprise me and give me a reason to continue but so far nothing that has been presented has remotely suggested that I would purchase the next expansion.

..but all my cool weapons offer the best perks of all.... what am I gonna to if they remove my shank and dreg burn? :( Wonder if the next set of weapons will have cabal burn and oryx burn. :)
-
All I get on to do now is maybe Skolas once, nightfalls and weeklies on each character and mainly reg crucible and ToO

Cool story

4 RepliesAt first I thought poe was pretty cool but now I'm tired of it. Some ol monotonous boring stuff over and over and over and over lol. Its the new version of running dozens of strikes. I'll do or two at a time but no more than that. I think I'm gonna hold off on the taken king dlc til I see what exactly it includes and what kind of reviews it gets. If it sucks and that is the end of line for me in destiny oh well, go plenty of other games to play.
-
I was hyped for prison of elders, and it was fun at first but got boring really fast. I do enjoy trials of Osiris very much. Considering I almost never played pvp outside of iron banner before, I didn't see that coming.

Spot on mate......

5 RepliesWhy isn't there a raid wasn't there suppost to be a raid in the future?

Edited by Burjibees: 7/13/2015 12:56:45 AMI'm officially done running skolas. My team would beat him each weak back when there were burns and even now and you know what I have to show for it 2 of the exotic weapons and only 2 elemental primaries. The rewards are just not worth it. Trials is fun and the lighthouse is cool so that's about all HoW was good for but that alienates the strictly pve crowd, and promotes twitch/youtube carries and donations flooding the forums and matchmaking. I made a promise to myself I wanted a solar titan, so I will buy the taken king and max out the new subclass and enjoy it for the couple months of content and then I'm leaving destiny franchise. No man's sky already has my attention among other great games to come. Totally agree with you, and thanks for not another nerf/troll post.

9 RepliesAbout PoE .. The whole activity is way more fun than the Crota raid.. But.. The rewards are mostly crap.. I think the only way to fix this since there are no "checkpoints" and doing Skolas from start to finish takes the most time than anything in this game is to reward players with different things in different rounds.. That is what is happening with the raids.. I do not understand why they do not implement this logic to PoE too.. I mean most of the times you go to round 5 and you spend a lot of time trying to down Skolas .. Often people need to go , or ragequit or something.. And they get nothing in return for the time spent in the activity... That is unfair..

HoW was honestly geared more towards crucible players, I play both, so something different is nice.

1 ReplyEdited by clownclown2: 7/12/2015 11:45:00 PMYeah but with TTK we're getting new supers! And a raid! Yaaayy! No? Well at least PoE isn't that bad. Okay the rewards are dumb but what did you expect? A bunch of exotic dropping left and right? Of you don't feel like your money was well spent then return Destiny to GameStop and get your $40 back. I don't mean to sound like a dick if I do. Sorry.

Lol you've only just cottoned on Bungivision excel @ hype but are sorely lacking when it comes time to deliver? I worked that out on vanilla! But gave them the benefit of the doubt, after tdb twigged this is their business model :(
