[b]READ EDIT 3 PLEASE![/b] It's the most updated form of my proposal, I've been reading everyone's responses and taking into consideration what people are saying and have tried coming up with acceptable alternatives. I also spoiler(ed) the first edit, so that you can see it if you wish, but I realize exactly how stupid the edit is, also it's to make people who posted about it not seem insane. The video that I have linked is the one from Gothalion that talks about changes that he would like to see in ToO. I am inclined to agree, mainly because I find it completely unfair for someone like myself, who is DECENT, not bad, not great, just decent at PvP and more inclined towards the IB type gameplay, to have to face people who are almost all PvP exclusive players. Those who basically play the game for the PvP completely outmatch people like myself and it's extremely frustrating as I have no chance to get the Mercury chest unless I find a pair of people who are so good that it doesn't really matter what I do, as long as I can stay alive long enough to get a few shots in. Now call me a whiner if you want, I don't really care. But I feel that it is unfair to those who aren't very good at this type of gameplay or aren't as good as those who play PvP and are highly skilled, as they have little to no chance of success. In addition those who are skilled aren't getting as much challenge as they could be getting. Say a team can typically go 9-0 repeatedly without much effort, and same with a few other teams, why pit them against those who barely scrape out wins, and might go 9-0 once throughout the entire experience in a week? Why not pit them against each other and give them the challenge that they deserve? [spoiler]Edit: I just think right now Trials is super tilted towards the best PvP players with little to no chance of those who don't play PvP as our main activity, now this is supposed to give the hardcore pvp players a challenge, I will concede that concept. However, some of the best non-exotic weapons are only obtainable via Trials, which means that those who aren't the best are basically gated out of having them.[/spoiler] Edit 2: Also take into consideration that the best PvE weapons can be found in the lighthouse as they have some of the best stat rolls on guns and burns to boot, something that isn't necessary in PvP but is damn useful in PvE. So as it is, PvE players are getting punished for not playing PvP as much and being able to go 9-0 against rather unfair odds. Edit 3: Thanks to those of you pointing out that I suck at PvP... I wasn't talking about K/D anyway, as I mostly play control and have been getting better K/D in large match based games when I play them.... that aside I wanted to add this: If there was an equivalent gear set from PoE that was suited for PvE and had good stats, rolls and burns, then there wouldn't even be an issue, it's the fact that adept weapons in the lighthouse are so good in PvE and there's nothing for PvE players of the same caliber from PoE right now. Continuing with the edit, 'git gud' or any variation of that phrase isn't helpful, here's the thing, I'm not complaining because I want trials to be easier or harder for one set of people or another. I want it so that people who have gone flawless are more likely to fight other flawless teams. [b]Say an "Ascended" buff that acts like a NF buff, and outside of PvP you glow a little, like a god almost. When you go back to play again that week, you play other Ascended players, or at least players with high score cards if there are none available on your connection level. Give those who go flawless on "Ascended" buff get another chest with higher chance for even better gear, maybe even make it have a guaranteed exotic drop or something. That way everyone who's good gets their chest, and everyone who is better than that gets a second one. It would reset each week.[/b]

  • The messanger(adept) is pretty damn good. The fact that exile armor has 3 stats makes them good. Best pve wesopns though, are found in raids. Get this, those are pve guns found in pve! Amazing, right? The best pve guns obtained by doing pve... Trials is for the best to play the best, and rewards the very best. It's not supposed to be fair, or flawless for weak pvp players. Sorry if you suck, but if you are concerned with getting the best pve weapons, go to www.destinylfg.com and beg for someone to carry you through VoG and CE. Since you can get 2 or 4 levels over the hard mode level, people won't mind carrying you through. As far as "fixing" trials, only two things need to happen... 1. Fix lag/disconnect issues. I'm tired of 9-1 with the loss being a disconnect. 2. Permanently bad hackers/cheaters from trials, and strip them of all trials gear whether earned legitly or not. You cheat, you lose. Only ban from trials is necessary, but if you want them banned from the game altogether, that's fine.

  • I play trials with two real life friends. One is a decent player and the other is -blam!-ing horrible. We usually go 9-1 I've yet to go flawless sadly. Even though my warlock(PvP toon) has imo good crucible and too stats. However I've noticed that the last three games usually on a card and the first game and the card [b]always[/b] puts us up against three flawless players.

    • they just need to make Skolas payout as much as trials does. because right now, it's just not worth it. Skolas doesn't give you shit most of the time and the few times he does, it's a cipher quest for 1 of 3 shitty exotics. why do trials players get guaranteed elemental guns? elements serve no use whatsoever in pvp!

      • Buff auto rifles(like the Suros), nerf Thorn/shotguns and get rid of the final round for snipers or at least make it available for other sniper rifles when reforging.

        • The lack of skill balancing in a competitive game made annoys me. Halo had swat and mlg modes.... Why can't we get at least some variant for trials? Tbh I'm not touching trials until the lag switchers are gone.

            I think matching 8-0 with 8-0 will not make trials easier, I think it would make it a lot harder. What happens if only one of your teammates is 8-0 would you get matched with an entire 8-0 team? Let's say they do figure out a way to make it more balanced using a particular stat, which stat would it be and how would you balance that stat across the entire fire team?

            • Once you been to the lighthouse you should be locked out on that character for that week. Simple. I get you want to help your mates through as well but you should have 3 characters by now for that.

              ToO should be 100% matchmaking only. Only able to use system selected weapons. Basically you can't use any of your regular weapons. That is what the word Trials means. Bungie has made the game too easy for the hardcore players and too difficult for causal players that work full time and only has few hours to play.

              • Once youve gone flawless with a character you shouldnt be allowed to gain any more trials passages, so everyone gets a chance and it stops the try hards from f.ucking average players cards up and carrying people

                • Do they make Skolas a paraplegic, blind, and deaf boss for people who can't beat him if they lack skill in PVE? The lighthouse is not meant for everyone. If you aren't good enough to get there, practice and keep trying until you do. Don't look for the easy way out.

                  • I'm confused as to what the real issue is here. Do people want easier access to adept weapons or do they want Trials to be easier? I think making the elemental weapon drops be 100% from the PoE 35 main chest would solve the issue on that front. Get your weekly key, beat 35 PoE and you get a random elemental weapon. As for Trials, it is fine the way it is. Play Elimination if you think Trials is too hard. There is more to Trials than Mercury. I don't know why everyone feeks that Trials is 9-0 or bust. That just isn't true. I've gone flawless every week but some of the most fun had been playing with people who aren't strictly PvP to see how many wins we can get. The game is fun. If you go into it thinking you have to go flawless or its a failure, you are playing it for the wrong reasons.

                    • Screw Trials man. I'm tired of cheaters with flawless tags lagging their way through to success. I don't care if I lose, it's part of life, but when you have to manipulate the game to gain an advantage, that really pisses me off. It was terrible this past trials, in my experience, and I really could care less about running it again. Last night a "flawless team" was walking into a wall, then I'm dead. My team mate shot a guy in the back heavy area point blank with a rocket and he shook it off, all while I shot him with red death and we both die and he lived. To the ones that earned it legit, congrats, I have no issue losing to you, but to those players that are posers, your the scum of destiny and should be banned for life.

                    • I made a similar post to this week one of Trials. Since then I have changed my opinion. Instead of remaining frustrated I read guides studied you tube videos played crucible after crucible trying to learn to snipe and prime opponents with grenades. Worked out optimal gear set ups. Then after four weeks, my team and I finally did it first flawless on Black Shield. Most memorable destiny accomplishment to date and the first time I felt I earned any of my gear / emblem. TLDR: Hang in there, keep practicing.

                      • Why [u]should[/u] trials matchmaking be based on skill.. It's a game based on a gunfight.. Based on a Clan/ Friend team build. The game doesn't change the difficulty of enemies you face in PvP based on your skill level.. You keep playing and adapting to a play style until you pass the activity or give up.. The same is said for PvP.. If you fail to win you keep playing until you win. You don't get to select a 'difficulty' level in PoE you just do it and do it until it's completed. For those of us that [b][u]CAN[/u][/b] play PvP we deserve the trials exclusive guns with elemental damage. I feel that OP either can not play PvP or has not put enough time and effort into PvP to change a/ the play style. It's a game of war.. Get over it and go back to PvE. Have a bit of fight and want in you to achieve something that you once couldn't. GOOD LUCK. Ps if you play on 360 then feel free to add me and I would be more than happy to help you on your way to Mercury once me and my team have done so each week. Happy playing all.

If you guys would stop giving up and just play it will happen you will fall into an unstoppable groove.. although I guess it's easier to bitch on the forums than to actually grind..                         • Trials should be 3v3 with no supers, grenades, special, or heavy weapons. Everyone has to use khostov only, would be interesting to see how people do without final round snipers, shotguns, thorns/tlw etc.

Ya pvp is great but u know what we use to compete for? Bak in the halo 2 days. Bragging rights, no emblem no shadr and if u lost oh well next game It was the campaign that was the big game and the multiplayer the extended half time show in the middle of it all... Now bunjivision dropped trow and whee'd all over creativity itself by having mos of this last dlc to be pvp related and an all round joke that took 4 more months than when it was said to drop and was more or less a icarus flight that showed us how little game designers care bout us

                            • My KD is around a 2.0 in general now days and I completely agree. I'll go against groups who are clearly not on my team's level, and even though it's nice to have that easy win, it sucks because I feel bad that we "rekted" them so bad. They should not have had to be match made against us. In fact our whole team only had 3 deaths in total. It wasn't fair to them, they may have an average KD of about .60, while ours is about a 1.8.

                                • I would like to start by saying that the trials guns are absolute trash for pve. If I saw you in my team using these guns I'd say you were crazy. Now, for my actual point. I'll have you know I'm above average at crucible but no where near the best. I believe trials could use a few changes but NOTHING catering to the under skilled players. I have a strong dislike of players who think they are entitled to anything they can't earn. I worked hard to get to the lighthouse, so why can't you? I've come from games that didn't cater towards less skilled players AT ALL. If you didn't work for yourself you were absolutely left behind. If you join the game 10 years later, you were 10 years behind. Destiny already has several mechanics that give the average joe a chance.
