What is the point of the hawkmoon? The perks are literally there just to give you the potential of a 2 shot kill. But this is chance, thorn is not. Thorn will almost always give you a two shot kill. So my question is why doesn't every one just use thorn. I would rather go with almost always than sometimes.
Btw I'm on xbox if you couldn't tell

Because it's not cheap. It's a perfectly balanced gun that actually feels good to use while still having fun with it. Hawkmoon has been my main pvp gun since the great rise of hand cannons. Trust me you'll understand when you pull the trigger it's just much smoother than the Thorne

It just feels good, you have to use one to know what I mean

Hawkmoon is amazing hands down. It's great for pvp and pve.

Hawkmoon kicks like a horse but its very predictable and the sights are way better then thorn. Most find it easier to land accurate headshots, especially from distance. And the lucky bullets will proc A LOT if u use the gun regularly. Its just straight up a savage hand cannon that most people don't appreciate until they have it.
-
There's just something about it. Thorn is still the superior hand cannon and I know it is, but I find myself using the Hawkmoon just as often. It's just... I don't even know. I just want to use it when I play PvP. The way it shoots, looks, sounds.. It's the most beautiful gun in the game (alongside gjallarhorn) in my opinion. Plus you will get the lucky bullet damage quite a lot.
-
It also has a chance to one shot kill.
-
It's how it handles the feeling that you just fired a truck from you gun ha

1 ReplyIt all started at the beginning. Before the handcannon range nerf. U could win from snipers and scout rifles is was great.
-
You will know when you get it

4 RepliesThe thorn has no skill gap to use 'oh I got 2 headshots' *run away* got a kill, hawkmoon as I've seen on YouTube because I, also is an xbox one player don't have a hawkmoon, but when hawkmoon comes to xbox in September and I get it, that's my go to gun! I only use my thorn if the opposite team is using thorn, because I'm good with it and can return that stupid green burn that kills you!
-
Have you used a timurs lash or Ill will with luck in the chamber and final round? Well this just gives a bit more power to that fearsome load out plus aesthetically it is one of the best looking weapons.
-
I personally find the effective range to be much better on the hawkmoon and the thorns sight seems akward to aim with. But ive used the hawkmoon since like the second day the game was out so i might be alil bias lol
-
The range & impact is immense, the chance of extra damage is a nice bonus, but even without it the hawkmoon is a very strong weapon choice.
-
You do like 124/168 damage quite frequently and then if youre lucky you can one shot head shot
-
Edited by life_allstar: 6/26/2015 10:31:46 AMThorn is a slow two shot kill. Hawkmoon is not. I've taken out three charging enemies with 6 shots from the Hawkmoon - because each guy died almost immediately. You might be able to do that w thorn, but it takes all 9 bullets, and that takes longer.
-
I use hawkmoon because more often than not thelucky bullets proc. It also has harder but very predictable recoil. The two shot on hawkmoon TTK is quicker than thorn. I was playing skirmish and trapped in a corner with a guardian watching me with thorn, and i was one shot. I popped out and hit him (while he was 3/4 health) for 168 and killed him. Hawkmoon. Also, i use hawkmoon because it looks amazing, and it isn't that piece of f*cking overused garbage thorn.

You want Crucible to be a schitfest, don't you?
-
Even if you want to make the argument that it isn't the absolute "best" it's still very very good. Not everything can be the "best."
-
I have all three exotic handcannons and hawkmoon is my least favorite.
-
Hawkmoon feels awesome to use and can be a great counter to a thorn. You will find out soon.
-
If every1 used thorn, crucible would be hell...

2 RepliesIts base stats are amazing. It feels smooth and is easy to control. Plus it also has the potential to One-shot. Overall it handles better than Thorn.
